BBall Recruiting Thread 2k18 - Hoard, Mucius, Lewis, and Wright sign NLIs!

Good luck kid------if you knew all along you were going to ILL------why string along friends for weeks here at WF? Let me turn around so you can put the knife in deeper

Think we should not reach for a 2018 PG. not much left that we are involved with. leave the class as is and aim high for the 2019 class.

Taking the Dennis Smith Jr. route, and honestly it could be the best path into the league based on his example. Which could also be why he waited so long to commit and didn't help Illinois recruit anyone else. Great chance to be a stand out dynamic player on a b-level squad. No worries about playing time and he gets to play hometown hero. The "I'm the best point guard in the country" comment says a lot. He'd have turned the 2018 Wake team into an embarrassment of riches, but congrats to Illinois. New coach, a top recruit, they'll certainly improve and Wake fans know the long term frustrations of not making it into the 2nd weekend of the NCAA tourney for more than a decade, and for no good reason.

Kind of funny that most Wake fans will go from incredibly invested in Ayo for a few weeks to never thinking about him again. Short of Manning scheduling Illinois in 2018 at least...

Eh the DSJ route was kind of dumb, he probably would have been a top 5 or top 3 pick if he had been on a better team

I would like to get Lewis, love to get Herro, but personal preference of going hard after Harris and getting a grad transfer guard in the meantime. Getting a grad transfer guard may be tough though with Childress being a junior that year, Key being a senior, and having to split minutes with those two.

No sour grapes here, good luck to the kid, unfortunately he's gonna need it at Illinois. This decision was driven by his Dad's friendship with Coleman from the beginning unto the end we just watched (well some did, I didn't). From people in the know, barring injury or something else catastrophic, Crawford will be gone after next season and I think he will have a great year and be a late first or very early 2nd round choice. We are in good shape with Harris and a few other PG's for 2019 but we need a PG, or at least a combo guard, for 2018 and I think the staff will act accordingly. As mentioned earlier, I think we go for traction now with Herro and Lewis and perhaps others if we wait until Spring. Good effort in a predestined losing effort for Ayo, we did make it a little harder for Illinois on what most felt was a slam dunk for them from the beginning.

Hope it works out for the kid but his father has his priorities mixed up. Really indefensible and STUPID decision on many levels.

It's kind of surreal that a top 25 recruit has that type of drama for two programs there are not top 25 programs. We obviously have some history and Illinois is a wasteland, but more of what you would expect for a Duke Kentucky hat flip.

Oh history? You mean like 12/01/2004 when the greatest team in the HISTORY of Wake Forest, which included the second greatest player in the HISTORY of Wake Forest, had their testicles sliced off and stuffed down their throats? That HISTORY?

Lols, a lot wrong with this post. Brush up on your history and read a little about Tim Duncan. God you illinois fans that decide to come over here are fucking stupid.

1.) That wasn't the best team in Wake Forest history.
2.) Tim Duncan > Chris Paul
3.) Are you 12?

Good thing that the 'home town' fans can console themselves with Ayo's commitment after getting their shit pushed in by the Dodgers.
