Official Russian Election Interference Thread

trying to suppress turnout by having people stay home and color instead, obvi

Well they were also behind some of those "Text to vote" or vote on twitter ads.

Russia organized 2 sides of a Texas protest and encouraged 'both sides to battle in the streets'

-Russian trolls organized a protest and a counterprotest in the same place at the same time in May 2016, the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Sen. Richard Burr, said on Wednesday.
-The revelation shows how far Russia was willing to go to foment unrest and division in the US in the months leading up to the election.
-Burr said that organizing and promoting these protests cost Russia "about $200."

Russia is giving us a blueprint for how to bring America back together. Surely we can spend $200 inviting two groups to a unite rally or something.

Zuckerberg and the lawyers for Twitter, Google, etc. sound EXACTLY like the NRA and tobacco companies.

I think Journalist should get off twitter, or only be allowed to tweet information that is coming out on their edited publication if they are using the journalism credentials to bolster credibility. All other tweets should be from private unverified (no little blue check) accounts that carry the same weight as my tweets. It will be easier to identify vetted information from some's unverified, potentially bullshit rumors. We need some sort of up date to the professional code of ethics that accounts for social media platforms; something of a Hippocratic oath for professional journalists, written by the largest professional journalism society.

Totally disagree. People just need to learn that the blue check means nothing when it comes to credibility. It just means that the person is who they say there are.
