In other news, head lice suuuuuuuuuuck. They rank up pretty high up there on things I wouldn't even wish upon my worst enemy.

Yeah. I think they're gone now... 103129329 loads of laundry later, vacuuming every day, putting everything on high heat in the dryer every morning (after it had also been washed), combing every night (which, btw, the combs that come with the stuff are terrible. fine hairs with nits on them just go right through the teeth. it's freaking impossible to get all of them, I ended up just cutting individual hairs with nits on them).

They're going around the kids' school, though; if they re-catch them I'm gonna be pissed.

Keep using the preventative shampoo until the infestation at school passes.

Is that the same as the treatment shampoo?
I bought some spray that's tea tree oil/rosemary/mint because those are natural deterrents; hesitant to continue washing them with permetherin (sp?) more than the every 7 days of the cycle.

That fella could use a good sock in the nose. He’s obvs acting out because things don’t look so swell for his boy Donald these days. Also that fella seems very nervous!

Sorry. Lice is the worst. We've battled this for years. One summer it got so bad we hired a lady who comes over and combs the heck out of the kids hair using a giant magnifying glass. She was here for 3 hours and got every nit out. We also ended up going nuclear with the prescription stuff as the over the counter stuff allegedly has lost its effectiveness. Worth every penny.

Saw yesterday that there's a new one named Everest.

Damn. I'm way out of the loop.

What up with vampirina? I find it’s a show that drives me less crazy than other kid shows because I picture them being friendly to hide their blood lust rampages which occur off screen. Also hearing Wanda Sikes voice cracks me up

You guys who have already had a kid go through kindergarten - did your kid have homework? Our teacher sends home these work sheets, which aren't super long or anything, but they can take a little time and Boy is usually wiped out at night and in no mood for homework. We've been doing them because I don't want to be that parent of the kid who doesn't do his homework, but some nights I definitely feel like this is dumb and he's in kindergarten and we could spend happier more productive and beneficial time reading than frustrating time doing a math worksheet.

Yeah we had homework in kindergarten. Super LBH and was a fight virtually every time.

No reason the kid should have more than 5-10 minutes of simple homework.

Lady in my neighborhood who is usually pretty cool and kinda SJW has gone full listserve commando because of proposal to shift some "LOW INCOME" students to our elementary school. Going to bring down our elementary school, destroy our property values, etc. I'm kinda like, lady, this is not a good look for you. So many more things to be outraged about these days.

Homework probably would be about 10 minutes if Boy was in any mood to do it. That's just a hard thing to get him to want to do when he's exhausted and we're otherwise trying to get dinner on table and get in a little playtime before we start the bedtime routine. Just often turns into a full meltdown. I'm no child development specialist or anything, I just have a feeling kindergarteners shouldn't be sweating homework.

Love those limousine SJWs
