Official Russian Election Interference Thread

Lol. Dude that dossier was originally financed by a conservative newspaper. The guy investigated Sepp Blatter and was partially responsible for taking him down. Talk about selectively ignoring facts.

And ignore the dossier for a second. Let's pretend it never existed. There is still a mountain of evidence and public wrongdoings - much publicly admitted by the guilty parties themselves.

Christ the density here is mind boggling.

The things they're admitting to, like talking to ambassadors during transition, are nothingburgers.

For the record, I don't think there was even much "ill intent" behind what Trump and his morons did. They just had no fucking idea what they were doing because they are all massive idiots who don't know the first thing about the law, politics, or what you can and cannot do when representing America to foreign nations. I'm guessing they thought that everybody else did this stuff so they could do it, except they were too stupid to cover their tracks well, because, once again, they are absolute idiots.

Then when they were pressed on it they lied about everything because, once again, they had no idea how the government works and thought that once Trump was the POTUS it was effectively a dictatorship where he could make any problem go away.

So anyway, they are all in this mess now because they are all, idiots, and are representing America, so that's fantastic.

Personally I don't care so much about what they did or didn't do as much as I care that there are so many stupid people currently running the White House. That's my No. 1 concern, that they are all just hilariously inept and stupid. It's disheartening that they somehow won the election. Speaks to the sad state of America more than anything else possibly could.

This is a reasonable take that I agree with. What isn't reasonable is the people who think it's been a massive conspiracy.

Then why lie about it? Why has just about every person connected to Trump lied about contacts with Russians or conversations about Russians?

I agree with you there. There is no way a group as dumb politically as the Trump's and their friends could possibly have some mastermind plan. Most likely they are just getting taken for a ride by Russia and Putin, which is obviously (more?) concerning in its own right.

Eh.

I think there was intent, you all can judge if it was ill or not. Trump was going to lose. That was unacceptable to him. Russians, most likely through prior contacts, reached out to help. Trump and/or his team accepted the help. Trump won.

And then this whole #fakenews thing is about the glass ego Trump has that doesn't allow him to believe he's anything less than a god. But he and/or his team certainly wanted the help.

Then why lie about it? Why has just about every person connected to Trump lied about contacts with Russians or conversations about Russians?

Probably because they had no idea whether or not they were in trouble because they are all stupid. So they panicked and lied.

because pathological liars lie. You can unfollow about 200 liberal conspiracy theorists on twitter and save yourself the effort. It ain't that much more complicated.

Agreed deacsfan27's take is very reasonable. But you don't get a pass for negligence and idiocy. ETA: not saying you are giving them a pass based on your viewpoint but I think some are.

Depends on how you're using the word "conspiracy" - colloquially or legally. If two or more people agreed to reach out to Russia with the intent of getting information about Hillary to use in the election and then someone does so, then you're likely in conspiracy territory from a legal vantage point.

Depending on what actions people undertook, not knowing that it's illegal to do so isn't going to be a great defense if you get caught up in a conspiracy claim.

Also, this. Trump is a pathological liar who has no idea what the truth is.

But yeah in general I agree with what the Pod Save America guys have been saying for a long time now: there is no 4d chess, there is no master plan, there is no great master mind behind it all, at the end of the day a lot of these guys just aren't very smart and things went way too far.

Absolutely not, and that's why I think the investigation is completely valid and reasonable until it is determined what all went down, which is proving to be quite difficult it seems because they keep getting lied to by the aforementioned pathological liars.

the Russkies have been trying to fuck around with other people's elections for over a century, amazing that the dems just discovered this

China has been hacking our military and our industry like there is no tomorrow, but the dems are silent and don't seem to care, bet if they could fabricate a story to connect a Chinese hack to Trump, then it would be a big deal

Hillary and the dems colluded with the Russians through third parties to fashion the Trump dossier, that's a definite Russian collusion story but y'all don't seem much interested in that Russian collusion, wonder why

Please take this to the appropriate thread: https://www.ogboards.com/forums/showthread.php/29083-Impeach-Hillary

Unless the Russians used a sonic ray gun to get Hillary to faint at the 9/11 memorial, nothing the Russians did had any effect on the election outcome.

illegal immigration, the economy, tax reform, health care, TDS, terrorism, Chinese hacking, massive invasion of our privacy, mass shootings, and so on

How would most of those top Donald's associates conspiring to win the election with Russian operatives as "the biggest national security scandal in our country's history?"

China is the only thing that can really be grouped in there.

the Russia stuff in the dossier only came after the dems took over financing the "research"

the density is your density

There's a massive gap between "Donald and his associates did not break the law in communicating with Russia regarding the 2016 election" and "nothing the Russians did had any effect on the election outcome."

You'd have to be pretty naive if you believe that the Russian bots on Twitter posing as real conservative organizations with over 100k followers had no effect on the election outcome. The TNGOP group was retweeted thousands of times by elected officials, not to mention random American voters over the course of nearly a year before it turned out it was a Russian troll.

And so far we know of the following:

1. Donald Trump Jr tried to get dirt from Russia ("If what you say is true then I love it!" Especially right before Election Day.")
2. Roger Stone communicated with Russian hackers and Wikileaks via Twitter
3. Peter Smith (who's now dead) tried to track down Hillary's "missing emails" through Russian hackers
4. Paul Manafort was on retainer to help Russian oligarchs and political groups influence American policy

What else? I know I'm missing a bunch.

I generally assume everyone who uses twitter is a nutjob who isn't going to change their mind.
