NFL Offseason Thread: 2018 NFL Draft

Especially going up against Pats fans who have been there 7 times in the last 15 years already, and Minnesota isn't exactly a "sexy" Super Bowl location (like New Orleans/Miami/San Diego).
Pats fans would definitely show up in big numbers. We all know the end is somewhat near.

Vikes-Pats would be really good. No Wentz does massively lessen Sunday's game and certainly Eagles-Pats should it happen. Both woulda been pretty epic if he were healthy

maybe it's just me but this seems like the weakest pats team in awhile

i really don't think they'd get out of the NFC

Weakest Pats team in a few years.

Still better than anybody else in the NFL, and I'm not even sure it is close. Eagles w/ Wentz would have been fun. Everybody else seems pretty flawed, especially in a H2H w/ the Pats.

If the Pats win it this year, it would definitely be the worst Pats team to win the SB since the 01 team. Competition just sucks this year.

Philly is done, way worse than the Rams with Foles at the healm; I think Atl cruises again with confidence

I kinda like the Titans to cover and the Saints to at least cover

Steelers seems like a no brainer pick enough so that I'm staying clear of it altogether

Can you tell me how this week's games are going to go? Asking for a friend.

Eagles with Wentz are much better imo

I think they'd struggle against the Saints and Falcons

Panthers did beat them in Foxborough!

I actually think the Jags have a shot this weekend

I think some of this has to do with there being more defensive talent in the league than offensive. Some legit-ass defenses carrying some bad offenses. Not enough good QBs to keep up.

Perhaps only semi-related, but it seems like it has become OK for defensive players to hit receivers early on pretty much every pass. I hate seeing pass interference called on most deep balls (when both players are holding and clutching), but the defense has a huge advantage on these shorter routes when they can just bump the receiver a split second before the ball gets there.

Like the Eagles at home. If you throw out the last game of the season against Dallas when the Eagles rested starters, Philly is 8-0 at home this year (with an average margin of victory of 15 ppg; granted most of those wins came with Wentz at QB, but the fact remains that Eagles have been really good all around at home -- defense has allowed 10 or less 6 times this year in home games) and 6-1-1 ATS. Philly beat Minnesota at the Linc last year 21-10. Minnesota has been decent on the road this past year (5-2; they also played the Browns in London), but MN lost to the two playoff teams that they played on the road (at Pitt by 17; at CAR by 7).

Surprised that Philly is catching more than a FG as the game is likely to be close and low-scoring, and HF is important here. Give me the Eagles.

Not sure what to do about the Jags/Pats. Lost in the euphoria of the Jags win is the fact that their excellent defense was shredded by Ben R (469 yards - 5TDs) and the Steeler receivers. How much better will the defense be against Brady, even if the Pats receiver talent is step behind Pitt? Got to think that NE will at least get to the high 20s. Seems more likely that the Jags' offense will play like the team that only generated 10 points against Buffalo instead of the team that hung 45 on the Steelers (with 14 directly secured by the Jags defense). Also, Fournette was banged up last week, he has got to have a big game for the Jags to have a chance. Underdogs of 7 or more are money in the NFL playoffs, and the fact that both coordinators are likely leaving New England has got to be a distraction. Even so, the Pats cold-bolded efficiency is scary. Pass for now.

Pats plan should be straight up goal line the whole game, let Bortles throw all game.

Those two road losses by the Vikings were also on grass fields which Philly has as well.
