I'm one of the biggest panthers homers out there.... But I can't help but wonder if we could have made a sb run if we had not drawn the saints on the road

Yep, that was the weirdest part of the Super Bowl, I think we beat both teams 7/10 times

Yeah. Weird part of a weird season. We watched a team we beat lose to a team we should have beaten. We won 11 games, only the 8 time with double digit regular season wins. Look back at the 6 losses, one was to the SB champ, one was a fluke loss, one was a complete dud that could have sparked a postseason run, and 3 were to a Saints team we just didn't match up well with. All this despite several key injuries on offense.

Yet I still don't feel like this was a good team. I think we have a lot of holes all over the roster. And I'm not confident about next season.

9-2 in 1 possession games. Think we were a top third team, but certainly nothing special. Or maybe we're just #clutch now

Good point. Given our roller coaster history, it's very possible we could be slightly worse next year and go 5-6 in one possession games and go 7-9.

By next offseason we could be a much worse team with all of the old guys we will/might lose (Peppers, Star, Norwell, TD, Kalil, Olsen) and the recent draft misses could catch up quick unless this past year's class comes back in a big way next season

Lake Dawson has now been interviewed twice for GM and NFL Network said he’s the main competiton to Hurney. Darrin Gant said on the radio last week that Dawson not being hired yet means Panthers are prepared to just ride out the Hurney stuff going on and then keep him.

What if we had drawn the Falcons on the road ?

We lost there the last week of the season by 12 points with a lot to play for.

Heard through the rumor mill that we're kicking the tires on Josh Gordon. Doubt it happens, but would be an awesome pickup if he can stay clean (big if).

If our first major move post Richardson is to sign Josh Gordon I'm pretty sure it would kill the big cat. Changing of the guard indeed. I just can't see that happening.

Josh Gordon in Norv Turner's offense missed two games and still led the league in 2013 with an outstanding 1,646 reception yards. His quarterbacks that season? Jason Campbell, Brandon Weeden, and Brian Hoyer, none of which are currently starting only three years later. In terms of pure talent, many rank him as a top 5 WR in the NFL. But talent was never the question for the explosive "Flash Gordon".

Had completely forgotten Norv was with the Browns. Maybe this rumor has some legs.

This just got me Vibing real hard. Also isn't he still under contract, we would have to trade for him.

Yeah, he's apparently an exclusive rights FA, and they will likely resign him for around $1 million - what a steal. So, we'd probably actually have to give up a lot for him. Also, they already have infinity picks, so I doubt it could happen.
