KP Report for Notre Dame - Saturday 3 pm ACC Network

Don't score for 8 minutes to blow a double digit lead. ND hits a crazy 3 to take a 3 point lead with 4 seconds left. We inbound, push, hit the 3 to tie, but our clock keeper didn't start the clock. We can't inbound the ball, so Chill tries to throw it off the defender, but the defender just catches the ball.

You seriously can't make this shit up.

I wasn’t there. What happened with the clock?

It’s incredible that a noted big man coach would sit his best defender and post scorer up late because of FTs.

So dumb.

Moore was abused by Geben's, Sarr actually slowed him down, but Sarr isn't helpful on offense now. DM should have subbed offense and defense.

I wonder if we could have any less clutch players. Maybe it’s just a personal mentality, but when I played basketball and baseball the last few minutes of the game and the bottom of the last inning was no different to me than the rest of the game. I genuinely do not understand how we can’t hit a fucking shot in the last 4+ minutes of the game.

Manning had five minutes to draw up and inbounds play while the clock was getting fixed. Why did he call the last timeout to set up an inbounds play? Did I miss an attempted inbounds?

Just a losing culture in the program. Just a bunch of losers. Period.

Most of the game, we were going inside and driving. After we took out Moore it was chuck time. Wake is not good at chucking.

100%. Given Moore did look like he was about to have a heart attack but we had four side open three looks and they were all absolute bricks. I mean it’s just being small mentally. Wilbekin has a great drive and dish (exactly what you want more times than not) for a wide open look and brick. Just can’t make this stuff up.

How is it even possible for us to be unable to score in the last 5 minutes of games nearly every time? Are we that unclutch or do we just exhibit a gag reflex in crunch time? I mean seriously, this seems like tremendous odds of happening once or twice yet it happens time and again

So is the fact that Doral is running himself ragged going to the top of the key while they make a hundred dunks coaching?Because I don’t think next years recruiting class can fix that. We have no idea how to play defense and most of the time no discernible offense.

Yeah someone explain why we keep runners no that D?

I get this train of thought, I just don’t buy it. A losing culture can be overcome with a player(s) having a winning mentality. Not a single player on our team has the mentality of a Matt Farrell.

It would be nice to have an interior option to go to when the game gets tight. If only we had a 70% field goal shooter that did not spend the last 8 minutes (at least 20 minutes real time) on the bench.

How tired could one possibly be? I think you could have an actual heart attack and still recover in that much time.

2 years running. I doubt it is just bad luck.

Point shaving

It’s a combination of coaching and effort. Someone has to come help when Doral hedges and his man gets to the basket - like Donovan Mitchell did when he blocked a dunk attempt. So yeah, it’s a combo of coaching and player effort/awareness. Bad combo

Yeah I agree. I’m not going to make a judgement on that though because I’m not in the bench. I can’t imagine Doral would sit if he could play. The guy legitimately looked like he was about to keel over before he got taken out. Didn’t run down the floor after a change of possession, then hunched over propping himself up on his knees gasping for breath.

We are the 4th best 3PG shooting team in the ACC, but shoot about 5% when it comes to winning time.
