BBall Recruiting Thread 2k19 - Charles Coleman de-commits to Wake. :(

did Kentucky get Montgomery also?

fucking Kentucky

Not sure who thought they weren't recruiting well, but it does help that Arizona, Louisville, and a few others have become radioactive.

I guess I just meant that there is a perception that Coach K is eating Cal's lunch. I mean, he kind of is... But UK is still getting plenty of elite players / one and dones.

There has been a commonly expressed sentiment that Duke has now surpassed KY as the top one and done program. While I hate to see any Duke success on the recruiting trail, I love that the misperception of "Duke Basketball" as playing with strict admissions and academic standards has been exposed as a complete fraud.

Not only that, but the one & done thing makes finding The Dookie You Love To Hate much harder. Where's the fun in despising him for only one year?

O’Connell is primed for that spot. Maybe Bolden could too but I prefer to hate people who nail threes consistently (lol).

Grayson Allen could be the last 4 year hateable Dookie.

Grayson Allen cannot be surpassed in terms of "which duke player do you hate the most." And yes I know a Christian Laettner.

K has been beating out Cal for the rock star top 5 recruits, yes. No one has questioned Cals ability get top 20 dudes. The difference is potential #1 pick one & dones vs lottery pick one & dones

The perfect embodiment of the end of an era, especially when he probably reminds himself daily how much he messed up by not going pro at his peak. He just had to stay with K, and it burned him.

Nothing too new here, but some consolidated transfer information from a recent article in The Athletic:

Cheddi Mosely, G, Boston University: Mosely tells The Fieldhouse he received a scholarship offer from Rhode Island on Thursday. He’s also been contacted by Fordham, Rutgers, Charlotte, St. Bonaventure, Delaware, Robert Morris, LA Tech, Wagner, Ohio State, Troy, NC State, Wake Forest, Norfolk State and Arkansas-Little Rock. Mosely played only two games this past season because of a knee injury. Mosely played only 10 games as a junior because of what the school called an “internal matter.” In his last full season, he averaged 13.3 points per game as a sophomore.

Jordan Shepherd, G, Oklahoma: Shepherd tells The Fieldhouse that he's been contacted by Georgia Tech, Clemson, South Carolina, Wake Forest, UNC-Charlotte, Stephen F. Austin, College of Charleston, St. John's, San Diego and Penn. The sophomore point guard saw his role decrease this past season backing up Trae Young. He averaged 4.3 points per game as a freshman.

Nat Dixon, G, Chattanooga: Dixon told The Fieldhouse on Tuesday that he plans to visit Wake Forest on the weekend of April 20, and also that the new Xavier coaching staff is expected to be in this week to meet with him. Dixon previously told The Fieldhouse that Memphis, Creighton, Troy, South Alabama and UAB had reached out as well. Dixon averaged a team-high 13.9 points per game for the Mocs last season and will be eligible to play immediately next year.

Dion Wiley, G, Maryland: The grad transfer has received interest from Georgia, Wake Forest, UAB, New Mexico State and South Alabama, according to a report from ESPN’s Jeff Goodman on Twitter. Wiley also told Goodman he will visit South Alabama this week. Wiley averaged a career-high 5.8 points per game and shot 36.7 percent from 3-point range this past season.

Nat Dixon, G, Chattanooga: Dixon tells The Fieldhouse that he met with the Wake Forest coaching staff on Wednesday and has also heard from Creighton, Memphis, Troy, South Alabama and UAB. Dixon, who averaged a team-leading 13.9 points per game for the Moccasins this past season, is eligible immediately as a graduate transfer.

I've been hating Duke players for 40 years & he's not even in my top 5.

There will be plenty of 4 year dookies to hate in the future. NBA readiness is not a required trait. See: Wojo, Collins, Scheyer.

Post Hagans commit, Quade Green will likely announce his transfer out of UK this week. Unlikely we will be involved, although would be nice to not have to worry about getting a good PG in 2019.
