Wake Forest Football 2018 Offseason Discussion

They're only likely to be disappointed if they expect him to be as accurate as Wolford. It's kind of weird considering how much we already know about both of them. Hinton showed improvement every year, and I can't wait to see what he shows now that he has been getting starter reps and is playing behind a better O-Line than he was a couple years ago.

For me Hinton has a world of potential- but clearly has to get more accurate throwing and improve his decision making from 2 years ago when he played more. No reason to believe he can't/has not improved. Also nothing wrong with speculating on where he needs to do to up his game. He handled the Wolford competition with class and seemingly determination. Now is his time but he has work to do- who doesn't and he has time to do it before we tee it up. The challenge is there and we have talented guys to push him. Hinton is in the driver's seat. Be fun to see what he does with it.

I just hope Hinton can stay healthy. Wolf was lucky last year with as many times as he ran the ball

Hinton is a poor mans Lamar Jackson. Wolford was a poor mans Flutie.

I'd actually put Hinton as more of a poor mans Johnny Manziel.

Slap a WF on this bitch, throw the Deacon in the carriage, and it's "who needs a streetcar?"

Oh man, Evan was my freshman year roommate at MSD. Crazy. Had no idea he was back working for the city.

Evan is a great guy. Had the pleasure to meet him a few times and always hear good things about him from city officials and other employees.

I'd gladly take the football skills of Jackson or Manziel.
But I'd keep the character of Hinton

I would also like the skills of a Heisman trophy winner. Anyone else?!

If Clawson had just played the first stringers against the second stringers in the Spring game, Hinton would have had 400 yards of offense and we wouldn't be having this discussion. Instead we have the cockamamie spring choose up sides format that I doubt we ever even practice in. My guess is Hinton wins this job in August and if he doesn't, we have found one hell of a quarterback with a different name. Wolford took all kind of shit on this board. We used to wonder when he would throw that game killing, stupefying, interception. This Spring game offers about zero in rating Hinton as a QB IMO.

This

I see Hinton as a slightly skinnier Quinton Flowers from USF. He was on Heisman watch lists going into the season but even in a down year, he had near 3000 yards on only 53% passing and over 1000 yards rushing.

Pretty good comparison

I see Hinton as a Cory Randolph because they are both black, spent a majority of their careers in a QB competition, and they both fuck the haters.

Overreactions to scrimmages, accusations of racism, arguing about players no longer on the roster. Peak off-season material in this thread.

VMI is coming to Winston in 2022. We already have 4 non-con games, 3 at home. Air Force, Liberty, and Army. AF doesn't have a date yet, so it's probably them. Yet, Liberty bailed on a planned game with us.
