BBall Recruiting Thread 2k19 - 3-star 2018 SF Mike Wynn Commits to Wake!

We have a football recruit ranked higher than our lowest basketball recruit. That’s just horrible.

Edit: Actually Greene and Groulx are rated higher than Wynn.

Lol. Dude took two years and part of a summer at an online diploma factory to even get himself eligible, isn't expected to contribute, and will almost definitely struggle mightily with Wake classes...and yet there are still posters above trying to spin this.

I can't wait until we finally reach rock bottom. Those Thai kids were less lost than our program.
 
Can’t believe RChill couldn’t accept me and others giving up on Manning so early. Like we were crazy. Wake up and grasp that Wake is not trending up.
 
RChill and the like can look back and say they supported Manning and they’re better fans for not seeing how bad things were.
 
Manning will do just enough so Ron wont have to fire him. And on and on it goes, as Wake hoops gradually and increasingly fade from our collective consciousness and interest. The worst case forcast when Buz was hired has now become the accepted norm as our interest and enthusiasm of a lifetime has been dulled into submission and consists of little more than unfulfilled dreams of mediocrity.

Never said y’all were crazy, just premature. Anyone who saw this coming prior to JC leaving is deluding themselves. In hindsight I should have given more weight to how bad the 2016 class was (and that the 2015 class being better than expected didn’t make up for it) and how much damage last year’s performance appears to have done on the recruiting trail.

I’ve always said that Manning was a bad hire that had the potential to turn out alright and move the program forward. I’ve always said his margin of error was small. The path to rebuilding a program is early recruiting success driving early results which then drive more recruiting success. Manning has the first two parts of that but the 2016 class was too big of a miss to not be exposed by JC’s departure and Manning’s performance in 2018 was too poor to keep the train on the rails.

I still think Hoard might be good enough to give Manning another chance, but it won’t matter if he’s the next KD if the 2019 class is a dud (something I’ve also always said)

Lol. If that’s what makes one a good fan then bully for my one year of great fandom over the past decade. And for the record I readily admitted how bad things were last year, I just didn’t foresee them carrying forward since I honestly didn’t think Crawford or Moore would leave.

Those kids knew where they were. They just got trapped. ronnie knows too. He just can't admit when he is wrong. If only the bot were strong enough to get us out of this situation that ronnie has created and enabled for nearly a decade.

You could save yourself a lot of typing by just saying "Y'all were right, I was wrong."

Your best argument so far is that the rest of us were right, we were just right prematurely. We were too right. That's what you've got.

Wake has almost always been patient with coaches. Sometimes too patient. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I was hoping for a Euro, unranked because he was unknown, but someone with some good skills at this time. Or somebody who had been highly ranked but dropped because of injuries and not playing. Also I would have preferred a big with this kind of ranking. Greater (though still small) chance he would eventually outplay his ranking.

Melo Eggleston's shot is horrific. He's right handed and shoots it from his left ear. I'm worried about down low with the loss of Doral. I'm less worried about the loss of Crawford. I think he was, regrettably, a head case who played no D and between Chill, Lewis, and Wright we can make up for it. Lewis and Wright are looking okay in practice. Obviously far from game situations.
