Ex-leader of S.C.’s GOP says he killed dog on God’s command

SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say the former head of South Carolina’s Republican Party told them that he killed his mother’s dog because God told him to and that he was the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Todd Kincannon, 37, was arrested last week after he choked, stabbed, and mutilated his mother’s 10-year-old beagle mix at her Greenville county home, news outlets reported. Kincannon reportedly told Simpsonville police officers that he killed the dog because, ‘‘I’m the second coming of Christ and I got a command from God to do it.’’

Officers who responded to the July 26 call said Kincannon came out of his parents’ home wearing only his underwear and was covered in blood and dog hair. According to one officer, Kincannon said ‘‘that every 1,000 years there needs to be a sacrifice and blood must be spilt.’’

Given that Trumpism is increasingly taking on the aspects of a religious cult, I guess it was only a matter of time before blood sacrifices from the worshipers would begin. Hopefully they don't escalate to humans.

Mind you, these are the same people who, just three decades ago, were calling LibDems Russia-lovers and weak in standing up to the USSR, and adored Ronnie Reagan for standing up for America and fighting that big Russkie bear. Now, they or their kids are wearing "I'd rather be a Russian than a Democrat" t-shirts. Once, they indulged in conspiracy theories about how the Russians were using the Democrats to undermine the US Government and American way of life, now, they openly don't care that there is credible evidence that the Russians are interfering in our elections and trying to undermine our government and way of life. My, how the GOP has changed.

Russia is capitalist now. As far as they are concerned, Reagan solved Russia completely. (although they briefly obfuscated capitalist Russia and the USSR when Putin opposed the Iraq war.) And don't undersell Russia's social conservative push. Since we've started tolerating the gays, conservatives are looking for white people who are opposing social liberalism (who aren't Muslims), and Russia fits the bill. If you are bored some day, go check out consevapedia entries on Russia-that site openly celebrates some of Putin's repressive policies on gays and Pussy Riot.

Yeah, I've seen their reasoning for why Russia is now a "good guy" in world affairs. Except that politically they really haven't changed very much. Putin is former KGB, and he's basically just Brezhnev or Khrushchev (or one of the Czars, for that matter) under a different name. Economically Russia is a basket case (smaller GDP than Texas), so while they may be capitalist now, they're not really a good example of it. Of course, Trumpites also think that Trump is a brilliant businessman, so I guess they don't care whether Russia is economically successful or not. All they know is that Putin is a macho tough guy, which they love, that he probably helped Trump beat Hillary, which they love, and that he's a self-proclaimed "champion" of white conservative Christians, which they love. I haven't read conservapedia in a long time, I'll have to check out their Russia and Putin stuff.
 
Below is a link to an AP article that - surprise! - shows that the great majority of jobs created in the current booming economy are in urban areas that supported Hillary Clinton. Rural America, the heart of Trump's base, has seen relatively little job growth since Trump took office, and is still struggling (again, not a surprise). The very economy Trump and his minions are bragging about is providing the greatest boost to the places that give him the least support, while the rural areas that voted for him and still give him his greatest support and adoration are the ones that are getting the smallest boost (if any, some are still losing jobs) from the current economy. Oh, I loved the local GOP Congressman who attended a Chamber of Commerce meeting and said that his district needed to do a better job of bringing in immigrants, because the areas of the country that were booming had lots of immigrants. Yet this same guy then said that he supported a Trump/GOP bill that would provide tighter border security and would have "likely" curbed even legal immigration. Contradict much?

I personally don’t give two shits about those two old country coots and their idiocy. Dems just need to vote and those two mountain goats and the rest of their inbred clan will be relegated to the dustbin of history. Trying to cater to scum like that is beneath me and any decent American.
