Clemson kickoff set for 3:30

So he's not playing or he is playing ? Sounds like a neck strain and that he will play.

17 points is reasonable with a backup QB.

Figured the line would be 21. Hoping we can keep it close but Clemson's speed will be too much to overcome. Etienne is just phenomenal.

If Lawrence were playing it would at least be that. Also if we use that super slow standing still hand off, as quick as the Tigers DL is, we might be handing off to them

Pretty sure Lawrence is playing.

Really good handicapping tool is to observe this board's general sentiment about the spread on WF games and then go the other way. Worked well against Rice. The all-timer was the game at Duke two years ago. WF was coming off an ugly win over Tulane; Duke was coming off an early win (which is standard for them), and everyone here was convinced WF was going to get beaten soundly. WF won easily. The people setting the lines work hard and are smart; they won't keep their jobs if they set bad lines. Clemson is a public team; WF is not; so, the 17 number is actually more than what the Vegas power ratings say the line should be.

I generally agree with that, though I would say the vast majority of the time the posters round here don't think we're gonna cover

Vegas does not set the odds anywhere close to where games end up. They had the Notre Dame game at 8 after they were ahead of us last year by 29 and we scored two late td's to make it look close. We lost by a whole lot more than 8.

This year where they had us by 35 and we scored a late td and still lost by 20 something.

After Boston College and Notre Dame both scored 5 touchdowns or more on us no way that Clemson scores less than 50 points no matter who their quarterback is.

Yes Vegas knows how to set the odds so that they get betting on both sides but Vegas line is normally nowhere close to where the game ends up.

If I look at our last opponent and our next opponent it's clear that Vegas odds are half the time nowhere close to where games end up:

Notre Dame was supposed to beat Ball State by 34 and won by 7
Notre Dame was supposed to beat Wake by 7 and won by 29
Notre Dame was supposed to beat Stanford by 5 and won by 21
Clemson was supposed to beat Texas A&M by 12 and won by 2
Clemson was supposed to beat Syracuse by 24 and won by 4

No question that Vegas odds do a good job at getting betters on both sides but they are no predictor of outcome. As an example this week our line is 17 so they are able get money from the Clemson side but the final spread will be more like 30

Pilchard and bd's real-life person ( !) should meet up somewhere to bet on the game and avoid the vig

I'm all on in on that.

I'll give you Wake at +19.5 - Clawson's refusal to alter his offensive scheme is going to get Hartman killed this weekend. The Clemson D-Line is going to murder these delayed handoffs and fakes.

Only way Wake covers is if Lawrence isn't playing. And Clemson will probably still cover.

Sometimes the minority has it right!

I think we cover

We know we can put up points and now we are only adding Hinton and maybe Newman to the mix. And the D is on notice with something to prove, with their best chance of the season to prove it. I don’t think this one will be in doubt for long.

We opened at +16 and have gone up to +17.5 since.
