Report: Kavanaugh won’t commit to recusal from Trump/Mueller related matters

I hope so but I don’t know. I think there are some fighters running for office and hopefully voting Schumer and Pelosi out of leadership.

I have been impressed with many of the newer, or younger, Democrats running in various races around the country this year, some as first-time candidates. They often do seem to have more fire and spirit in them than the Old Guard, like Beto in Texas or Gillum in Florida or Ojeda in WV. Not all of them will win, of course, but at least they're putting up a real fight, and many of those who do lose will be back again, I think.

Republicans sent a stern message to women not to come forward with allegations of sexual assault against powerful men UNLESS it’s good for the GOP.

But people like Collins and Flake still support the #metoo movement and say they want women to come forward and tell their stories if they've been assaulted, because they'll be taken seriously. LOL. Meanwhile, that poor victim/choir boy Kavanaugh is celebrating his ascension to the SC with a champagne/booze party with his rich OWG buddies like Cornyn. Yes, that poor man Kavanaugh has just lived through a nightmare! The GOP is practically mocking victims of assault at this point. The question is whether they'll pay any price for it in the midterms next month.

My greatest fear was that the Democrats would go the way of Republicans and just completely lose their minds and create their own version of a tea party. It's still not a sure thing, especially given the socialist movement, but I have been impressed with the majority of the new candidates.

I want someone who opposes Trump, but I don't want a brainless "NO-BAMA!!!" equivalent.

Agreed. My district isn't fielding the greatest candidate, but there are 2 strong challengers in VA 10 and 7. Not as familiar with VA 2. But there was a yuge influx of new blood in the state delegate races last year, and the Dems picked up 16 seats, drawing within 1 seat of a 50/50 tie. I'm hoping the enthusiasm stays high. I think what happened is there was just no enthusiasm for a lousy candidate in Hillary in 2016, and everyone, including the Trump team, assumed she'd win, and now everyone is up in arms now that we've experienced a Trump presidency.

I agree

Oh I’m sure of it. I’m guessing plenty of “Bart alumnae” do.
