BBall Recruiting Thread 2k19 - Charles Coleman de-commits to Wake. :(

If John Collins stays one more year we are more than likely taking about back to back NCAA tournament appearances and an experienced team adding two top 100 freshman at positions of need.

A coach should never let the decision of one player, no matter how talented, have such a large impact on the program (though better coaches than Manning certainly have), but that doesn’t change the impact that decision actually had.
Crappy coaches usually regress to the mean. I mean look at coaches like mike Godfrey at state who had a lot more success than Manning ever will it wake and he could never keep it going.

Completely agree. It would be really hard to argue Gottfried didn’t turn the program around from where Lowe had it. I never said Manning almost pulled off getting us to a championship level or even where Skip had us before Chris left.

That whole season was pretty fun actually. But if I’m making a top 50, or even top 100, list of Wake Forest Basketball memories I doubt anything from that season makes the list.

The Louisville game was definitely the highlight of my post-Dino Wake fandom.

I mean, there’s not a ton of competition there unless you’re a masochist.

It's just striking to me that our "run" to the NCAA Tournament play-in game that is so often cited as the high point of Manning's tenure here doesn't even make my top-5.
