'17 Specials & '18 Midterms Thread

You just told us that Nazis were socialists and the article that Shoo posted states they took advantage of the fascist-conservative alliances and the fractured left.

So what’s your new position on the Nazis? Socialists still?

They nationalized industry and agriculture. They told factories what to make and how much to sell. They told shopkeepers what to stock. This is a regulatory dream come true for you bureaucracy worshipping pinkos.

i am in the middle of this race and it is crazy. Blackburn is running a lie and bring the smear tactic out in full force. I see her commercials twice as often. Bredesen is ok, i feel i have to vote for him because Blackburn is a witch.

Trump won TN 61-35. The metrics there are so pro Pub, I never understood how Bredesen was leading in the polls 2-3 months ago. As a Tennessean, what are your ideas as to why this race is close? I know little about TN, but I figure outside of Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville and maybe Murfreesboro the state has to be overwhelmingly Pub and not college educated. I mean only 2 of the 9 districts are represented by Dems, and the other 7 are all Pub by 20+.

Speaking of ads, I live in VA-5 and border parts of VA-7. I'm seeing a ton of Riggleman (R) ads here in Cville and none for Cockburn (D). And I see a handful of Brat (R) ads but none for Spanbarger (D), though I figure the western part of VA-7 is rural and unfriendly for her, so she's probably mostly concentrating on the Richmond and Fredericksburg areas. But then again, I watch a lot of sports channels, so maybe that has something to do with it. Also FWIW, I've always considered VA-5 safe for Riggleman but had thought VA-7 would be very tight.

Since the first fundraiser was so successful, the guys added another that helps eight down ballot candidates in PA, MI, OH, and AZ. They're getting close to $30K raised in just over an hour.

Must Spread Rep, but thanks for posting this.

I think Dems are devoting more resources to online ads and GOTV than TV.

I'm on the other side of VA7 in Richmond, and the ads are more evenly split, with maybe a slight edge to Brat. The "terror high" ones are still going strong.

Jesus dude, did you go to Bob Jones University or something? Even a cursory glance at wikipedia would enlighten the hell out of you.

"When Adolf Hitler became Chancellor in 1933, he introduced policies aimed at improving the economy. The changes included privatization of state industries, autarky, and tariffs on imports. Wages increased by 10.9% in real terms during this period.[2] However, reduced foreign trade meant rationing in consumer goods like poultry, fruit, and clothing for many Germans.[3]"

"The Nazi government developed a partnership with leading German business interests, who supported the goals of the regime and its war effort in exchange for advantageous contracts, subsidies, and the suppression of the trade union movement.[10] Cartels and monopolies were encouraged at the expense of small businesses, even though the Nazis had received considerable electoral support from small business owners.[11]"

Communists have always hated labor unions. That’s the main reason capitalists have always loved, encouraged and supported labor unions.

Wikipedia contains about as much truth as Snopes, yet another Soros-funded venture to misinform and manipulate bleeding heart liberals. Here's the truth (written during the Obama-led collapse of 2009):

https://mises.org/library/nazi-economic-policy

Nearly every day brings new reports of the collapse of a large financial institution or the impending bankruptcy of a major company. Plans for bailouts and government intervention are in the air. Even those who profess devotion to free enterprise have wavered. Are we not faced with an emergency that calls for immediate action to "save" capitalism?

Faced with this situation, we need to be more resolute than ever in defense of the free market, with no government restrictions whatever. If we do not defeat these measures, we face grave danger. The record of National Socialist Germany during the 1930s shows how quickly government intervention leads to full-scale socialism. Ludwig von Mises warned of this many years ago.
