And we have not even seen much from Redding, Allen, Lowe and Olson among a slew of other defenders who are adjusting to this Defense and it's unique attributes.

We also looked good last year starting off 2-0, then getting a subtle reminder against Stanford.

We are head and shoulders better than last year, and I think a bowl game is a definite possibility, but we have still have some gaping holes right now - run blocking and secondary play are the top 2 - that we need to fix to become contenders.

Camp was an All-American, he was going to be good eventually. No one has missed out on Givens being good, Terrence just had some injury problems but we had heard he was as good as Givens speed-wise... Dembry was good last year. Offense isn't the problem.

The problem is the Defense.

how many turnovers have those guys created? How many points did they allow against Syracuse and NC State?

I know for a fact that LiquidKarma and myself have been huge on Givens from the get-go.
 
It's pretty sad that Lectro has to come on here knowing that his posts are only going to lead to other people talking negatively about the team. Sure, there are some good things seen and those have often been discussed on different threads. But rather than Lectro just join in the conversation, he has to create new threads knowing it's only going to deteriorate into arguments against him. Pretty sad.

2 plays (mental errors which have been addressed to the "Corners") but 2 plays accounted for 14 points and 130 yds vs NCSU.

What the fk am I missing. You get those corners to keep the play in front and give up small chunks and that stat line and D perception changes. 2 plays, and 2 fixable plays at that.
 
You can't pretend like the plays didn't happen. They did. They count.

Now, I hope they get fixed and having the off week and last week against shit competition should help out correcting mistakes we saw the defense make in the first 2 games.

Yea, and you can't make the problem anymore than "easily addressed" -- corners got burned twice. They have learned. Does that mean they will not get beat again this season? Absolutely not, just not in that situation.

This. It doesn't matter to him when other people are excited about our players. He's got to hype them up himself and denigrate or ignore how excited the rest of us are.
