The official LOL Harry Giles thread

back to back Coaches Decision - DNP's for the BIG TICKET and the KINGS are on a 4 game win streak. Coincidence? LOL

Tatum believes:

Giles had 30 in the G-League on Sunday and had 12 and 6 vs. the Spurs tonight.

Take it to the Marvin Bagley thread. This thread is exclusively for LOL'ing @ Harry Giles.

SO you are laughing at a guy who worked hard enough to be making $6.6 million over 3 years. OK, if you must get your jollies, go ahead on but I think Harry is getting the last laugh on you.

Harry Giles PF 20 1 3 yr contract for $6,645,240, per year average $2,215,080 $6,645,240 total contract

I mean, he was an extremely talented basketball player that got hurt and did not play well. Someone took a chance on him, and as a result, he is making a lot of money. It is not as though he pulled himself up by his bootstraps. I am not knocking the guy for making money - go make that paper - but let's not act like this contract was the result of him meeting expectations, much less exceeding them.

He'll get another contract based on potential too.....

The kids was a helluva talent, who when he was a hs freshman & sophomore was rated as the #1 pick in the NBA draft. He gets a terrible knee injury playing for the USA basketball team initially , recovers from that then the next season before he even begins gets his other knee ripped out. Geez, that type stuff is not his fault and he is a local Winston-Salem kid who comes from a great family. It is terrible that it has to happen to anybody and I hate it happened to him. I lived thru that with my own son who had 2 broken bones in his feet, a knee scope & finally a broken bone in his low back from a car accident in the spring of his junior year that finally festered at the critical time of summer AAU & All-star basketball recruiting deal. Ended all that. Happens, and as it is now, the best thing that could have happened in the long run because of the great business school education he got & the great job he has. But at the time it is occurring, let me tell you, IT IS TOUGH to go thru. For them & the family. At least Giles made some bank off of his potential and may still overcome all the knee problems in some form!

Yeah but he chose to go to Duke for sneaker money after stringing along the family of his high school teammate, so as Wake fans I think we can all agree that he can suck it and keep on sucking it.

This is the "LOL Harry Giles" thread, not the "discuss the unfortunate nuances of a local kid from a great family" thread. GTFOOH with this talk

I am not necessarily taking issue with this, I just think to suggest that he is some tireless worker that created his own wealth is a little inaccurate. He was a naturally gifted athlete, and while I am sure he worked very hard, digging ditches is hard work, too.
