BBall Recruiting Thread 2k19 - Charles Coleman de-commits to Wake. :(

Seems like a good get. Not good enough, but it’s better than seeing the bottom completely fall out like in 2016 (this class now has two guys ranked higher than anyone in that class).

Do any of the current board members provide counseling for those in mourning and yearning for the Davey O slugfest 50 point fests or the Dino Gaudio highscoring defenseless games, but at least having hope....

Just throwing out schollies left and right to complete pipedreams. Oh how far we have fallen.

Anyone starting the fire Ronnie website yet????

Fwiw, I like his comments in Evan Daniels article on 247.
Seems like a good kid and a good fit for Wake.
Hope he does well and surprises the nay-sayers.

Looks like Neath's announcement is up next. The MC is talking him up while a picutre of mountains appears on the computer screen behind Neath.

Apparently he received 13 D1 offers.

Any idea if any of them were P5 other than us?

This is just incredible! The only thing that would make it better is if the Deacon was bouncing a basketball.

We have a lot to rip on Manning for but getting commitments from 2 guys in the top-150 for 2019 isn't one of them.

Facepalm

You'd have a point if they weren't the marquee recruits for the class. These are the type guys we should be filling 1-2 spots of a class in with, not building a class around.

For the record, it *sounds* like Neath is quite a bit better than "top 150". Players ranked in the top 5 of his league (as he is currently) are typically easily top 100 players once the rankings shake out.

No idea if that'll happen here, or why the major service rankings are lagging so far behind for him, but it's worth mentioning.

Arguing about Manning's recruiting like this when we pulled in top 50 recruits the last two years, including the highest-ranked recruit we've had in a decade who is now starting for us, just seems hollow.

Arguing that our recruiting is good enough seems hollow. Making excuses for this year by referencing last year seems hollow.

Can you link to his ranking info? 247 appears to have him ranked at 194 and verbal commits has him as an unranked 2 star. I don't see him listed elsewhere.

This is from the 247 article a couple days ago indicating he was a recruit worth mentioning with big names. In fact, every single one of the players mentioned is listed as a top 100 recruit:

Who will actually announce?

Outside the top 10, there are 17 uncommitted players ranked among the top 100 prospects in the country. Of that group of players only one has publicized an announcement date. Four-star big man Drew Timme will make his college choice at his high school Wednesday morning at 8:00 CT. Gonzaga, Alabama and Texas A&M are considered the favorites. Three other prospects that we expect to make decisions during the period are Lester Quinones, Chandler Lawson and Jahcobi Neath. Lawson's decision will come on Wednesday, while Neath is expected or Thursday. Five-star forward Keion Brooks is another prospect to keep an eye on, as it’s possible he makes a college choice. While it won't be during the signing period, four-star forward Zeke Nnaji has scheduled an announcement for Nov. 23.
