"Terrorists" = impoverished Latinos who clean houses, do construction work, and mow lawns for affluent old white conservative retirees, so they can provide a better life for their families and children than they had in their native countries. I saw as much this holiday season visiting relatives. LOL.

It’s just the fucking Republican fearmongering, they are going full throttle on it right now. We all know immigration needs addressing and the Dems did not address when they had power but the idea that every immigrant is terrorist or criminal is just ludicrous and dangerous. It is a difficult situation to navigate, but the idea of a “wall” is asinine and expensive...again Republicans prove themselves as very poor financial managers. They are worthless at this point...just trying to get theirs at the expense of all other Americans. I am not saying Dems are not, they are just a lot less transperant at their betrail right now.
 
I’m not sure I understand Graham’s point. He’s saying democrats spent money on the border fence before, so they should again? What happened with the prior dollars spent? Did they not get spent? Why bother shucking and jiving again if nothing will happen? Or is he saying that previous spending wasn’t enough? Then why keep throwing good money after bad?

Graham is a sycophant who has been repeatedly belittled and insulted by Trump and now licks his boots, so nothing he says has to make any sense. That said, there is no amount of security spending that is ever enough for border/immigrant hawks. As long as there is a single brown person sneaking across the desert or any crime committed by an undocumented immigrant anywhere in the US of A, people like Trump, Graham, Coulter and their followers will scream for MOAR BORDER WALL and insist that no other immigration reform can be considered until their demands are met.

Just want to clarify that it was a problem during W administration too and the Pubs did nothing about it then either. It has never been a thing the Pubs want to fix but rather a thing they want to use to rile up the base.
 
Then why do the Dems resist the wall?, it’s not that expensive in the grand scheme of things. Take the issue away.

Because it won't make the issue go away. Spend 5.7 Billion, in 3 months another caravan will be on the way or some undocumented gang banger will kill a white girl and Fox News will just ramp up with more fearmongering and demand MOAR BORDER SECURITY. Democrats will say "but we gave you 5.7 Billion" but the border hawks will act like they don't remember or like it was a pittance and not nearly enough to KEEP OUR COUNTRY SAFE FROM TERRORISTS1!1!juan!
 
- environmental impacts
- private land seized by imminent domain
- waste of resources (monetary and other)
- symbolic posture toward rest of world
- doesn't actually fix an issue - unlawful entry is declining and nearly 70% of undocumented immigrants are here b/c of visa overstay
- takes away from actual needed immigration reform
