Totally Unofficial 2018/19 Premier League Thread (NWT)

He's accustomed to long Bundesliga holiday breaks that extend well into January.

The total gegenpress used the last few seasons was wiping the team. Fitness levels seem much better this year with the scaled back version.

Good story on Ki-Jana Hoever's path.

Saw a rumor Spurs are interested in Denis Zakaria from 'Gladbach. I haven't seen him this year, but I liked him the few time I have seen him. Swiss international, came from Young Boys, and can play a bit.

Gabbiadini to Sampdoria from Southampton. And is wearing a funny hat!

Leicester have recalled Harvey Barnes from loan at West Brom. Promising young player doing the goals and skills.

*Special appearance by Lloyd Kelly getting caught out of position twice about a minute in and being partially responsible for goals.

Haven't seen any really legit links for Spurs' January targets (annoying) but one that seems good is Hoffenheim CM Florian Grillitsch. Hadn't heard of him (I'm not a Bundesliga expert) but the more I read, the more useful he seems. Plus, he would cover a position of severe need.

Finished "Sunderland Til I Die" on my flight home last night. Really well done series. For a moment, although a brief one, it even made me feel empathy for supporters of the Black Cats - that is until some moron approached Chris Coleman outside the SoL well after the match that sent them down (Burton Albion, maybe?) and threatened him. I love the passion of English football but that was nuts.

Good article on Bielsa, who has Leeds at the top of the Championship right now. It could all go to shit, but he is entertaining.

Guy is beloved by a lot of former players. Club admin where he's been is often a different story though. Check this out - describes him to a "T".

Bielsa's unique style continued at Leeds, where in order to receive a work permit from the UK government he had to prove "exceptional talent": he did so by compiling a dossier of every formation used in every Championship match during the 2017-18 season, with notes on frequency and variations. Once at the Yorkshire club, he instituted all-day training sessions, gave the first team their own private space at Thorp Arch, and had sleeping quarters installed in his office so he could devote more time to match analysis. As a motivational tactic, Bielsa once made players pick up trash around the training ground for three hours, as he had been told that was how long an average Leeds fan worked to afford a ticket

I just remembered espn+ has the championship, so I’m about to watch a replay of Leeds-Derby.

Derby’s crest is badass.

This should be good. I wish Harry Wilson was involved, but looking forward to Mason Mount and Jack(s) Clarke and Harrison.

So good outside of that last supporter. It did a great job of showing how much the city reflects upon Sunderland’s successes and failures. I don’t know how it came about, but I’m shocked an owner looking to sell would allow such access to the clubhouse. I loved it though, especially getting to know the players.

Bielsa openly admitted to sending the spy and said he's been doing it for years.

Reason #183253025325 why Bielsa is cool and Belichick is not

Harrison with a poacher's goal.

Jack Clarke for Leeds is pretty damn good.
