Players have just given up. Understandable when you are playing for a lame duck coach. Sucks for them, sucks for the fans. Wellman needs to terminate Manning, name Chill interim for the remainder of the season. Move Chill to an admin role next year and hire an entire new staff.
 
I am deathly sick of the freaking "we are really young" cop out excuse. Yes we are young but what about last year Danny, you had three juniors in the starting line-up with the first two off the bench being a Senior and a post grad, yet you won all of 11 games. Just shut up and pack your bags, you are not in Kansas anymore and Bill Self your "wizard" can't protect you here. What an abomination our program has become
 
The problem with "we're young" is that young players most often would run through walls and play their butts off just to stay on the court. Our guys (with the exception of Chaundee) are simply not playing hard. This is partially on them, but is overwhelmingly on Danny. He is neither inspiring, leading or cajoling them to play hard on every play.

I understand the whole JuCo thing and Wake but what is the main difference between the standards for athletes at Wake and other academic schools that have success like Duke, Vandy in baseball, Stanford in football etc.? These may not be fair comparisons to Wake I'm just clueless on why Wake continues to handicap itself. Academic prestige? Just curious as this coming from someone who's never set foot on the campus as a student.

Agreed. Sick of ALL excuses concerning Wake Forest basketball. Academics are too hard, arena too big, facilities are not up too par, Wake can't get good enough recruits, we're too young, academics are too hard, academics are too hard. For God's sake just drop out of the fucking ACC and join the sunbelt in basketball or shut the bitch down until a decision is made to actually compete in the ACC. What a fucking joke the whole program is and I mean the leadership....NOT THE PLAYERS. All other sports at Wake seem to be able to have some sort of success at Wake except BASKETBALL. The sport that matters the most on Tobacco Road and Wake cannot get the shit right.
