Possible Wake Forest Coaching Candidates Analysis

Manning is gone. He has agreed on the $$. It’s a done deal. And he will go to an assistant job in NBA.

If true I would like to be the first person to thank mike D'Antoni for helping us again.

Has this happened yet? Last year was the 30th anniversary and it was barely mentioned.

They had manning in the studio one recent tournament. Maybe last year since 30th anny. But no, no has spoken about him being fired since that hasn’t happened yet.

Put it this way, Jim Nantz would wax nostalgically about Manning’s college playing career. He would never say he was a shitty coach and would probably just say it was a shame such a legend didn’t get more of a chance.

That 2016 class was Manning’s demise. He just didn’t have the coaching chops to recover from such a terrible class. Couple that with the rapid development of JC, the poor decisions of Craw and Doral, and here we stand.

I’m glad this is all coming to an end. Manning is a good dude and deserves our respect on his way out.

I’m going to be sad watching Louisville play for the rest of time. Watching Mack coach not at Wake is sad.

Yeah I kind of feel gross, but I find myself cheering for UL. They’ll be my NCAAT team, along with UVA. Just really don’t want Roy or K to get another one.

Was talking to a UK fan at work today and even he said he tries hard to hate Mack because he’s coaching at Louisville but he just can’t. Everyone loves that guy.

Barca, the national media hasn’t cared about Manning as a coach. They won’t care about him as a fired coach. I don’t know why you’re obsessed with this.

This is why Kelsey is the answer. The Prosser connection is good...Prosser himself plus Mack, Kelsey, Gaudio for 3 years here. I'm staying on the Kelsey train no matter how far he seems to have fallen from the conversation. His resume is better than Miller's and his enthusiasm is infectious. We need that desperately...the Joel would return as a fun and exciting place to play in.

This is an emotional take versus an objective one. It's how WF has had Randolph Childress for the last two coaching hires as well. And it's basically the opposite of people who hate Wes Miller because he went to a blue school down the road. Find the best coach that WF can period. Don't worry about past allegiances (good or bad), just simply find the best person. If Kelsey is the best option without the bias of his past WF associations, then cool. With that said, enthusiasm for the school and knowing how to market it to recruits is important so that factor would most likely be a positive for Kelsey.

An emotional one in the sense that he brings enthusiasm. Follow him on Twitter for a bit and see. As for being objective...he's objectively a good choice. Trajectory at Winthrop is what we should be looking for, he was an assistant at the highest levels on teams that won big, and from a coaching tree that has succeeded across the board.

I wouldn’t call a handful of posts obsession. I’ve barely posted on any b-ball threads the past few years due to apathy.

So you understand national apathy about Coach Manning.

Re: Penn State

Up to 58th in KenPom after beating Michigan last night. Does this mean they're better than Michigan RJ?
