Possible Wake Forest Coaching Candidates Analysis

Could be true, but if so then the administration really thinks the fan base is stupid as shit.

In all seriousness, if the plan was always to bring Manning back for another year the question is WHY? Nobody could seriously look at the results and see a clear path forward. The arena is empty. Recruiting looks like shit. The fanbase is at best apathetic and at worst actively hostile. What’s the play behind keeping him another year?

BTW i still think Manning is gone, if you hear otherwise its completely false.

Someone with a supposed connection in the AD posted something about how the leak only preceded the the planned announcement by a day or two. Don’t remember who posted it or know if it’s true, but I do remember reading that somewhere on here.
It was me, and that's the case. They were planning to announce on monday.

One list of coach's salaries is out.

Shaka getting $3.2 million plus almost $800k bonus from Texas.

It was me, and that's the case. They were planning to announce on monday.

Thanks! And it makes sense it only got spoiled by a day. They would have had to plan and execute a ton of shit on very short notice if they weren’t ready planning to announce on Monday.

Manning IS gone. Ain’t no still think bull shit. Quit with the hedging. You’re supposed to have that insider mentality

What if the plan all along was to keep Manning and hold of on announcing Wellman’s retirement until it was announced that Manning would be back? Then Currie could take over without being attached to the stink. But someone leaked to put pressure on to fire Manning.
That's been my working theory for a bit.

Just feels to me like everyone involved is saying exactly what they have to say in this situation.

Add in a little extra arrogance for Wellman and aloofness for Manning, and you are where we are.

If Manning were coming back, I think either Wellman or Currie would have already said that.

I still think he 100% gets fired early next week.

Bless your heart.

I've been way too busy with work this week to be checking the boards religiously. Hopefully next week opens up a bit cuz I will need it.

I can't even think of another coach similar to Odom to compare him to. Massive upset in the NCAAT, three or four years in, no other head coaching experience, never had a top 150 team. Let me know if anyone thinks of a team and we can compare how things shook out for that coach moving forward.

Here's a list of 15-2 upsets. This would probably be your only pool of candidates. Andy Enfield with Lob City at FGCU??
