Just wanted to let you know that I changed from Venmo to Zelle to send you the rent money for the space in your brain that I occupy.

say what you will about knight though, he's still funnier than this

Juice needs a hobby. His act is old and shows great jealousy.

Idk if diarrhea is funny or not, but I just found out that squatting with montezuma’s revenge is a bad idea.

Though I think Carlin would have abhorred Knight's politics, at least he was funny.

The free speech warrior comedians of today are so dumb. The Comedians in Cars double episode with Ricky Gervais from this latest season was so painful. Just 40 minutes of Gervais saying roughly "just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right" instead of making jokes. I'd rather laugh from a callous, lewd joke than be preached to about free speech. If the prison rape jokes are funny (which...there aren't a ton of people able to pull that off now) ok. I think comedians should be able to push the envelope and make us uncomfortable a little. But the jokes still have to be funny. Knight's arrested development seems to have led him to think the kind of stuff most of us stopped laughing at in middle school (your mom, diarrhea, racist/homophobic jokes) is still the pinnacle precisely because it makes the libs uncomfortable rather than because it's inherently funny.

My humor is pretty broad. I also like dad jokes and corney jokes.

The attraction to vulgarity isn't that the PCs get all riled up, that's just gravy. A thick, chunky, brown gravy.

The human body is the one thing we all have in common - it's universality is a hole waiting to be filled with humor. People like to have sex; that's funny. People fart and poop; that's funny. The inflated or conjectured characteristics of your mother; hilarious. Because not only are they all universal, but they're completely harmless to well-adjusted individuals.

Witty commentary on French philosophy? Sounds way too much like horseback public masturbation to be funny. And don't get me wrong, public masturbation has some humor to it, but not when you're just self-indulging on the playground. That's probably the biggest departure that I've had from my classmates at Wake - I just can't take myself that seriously.

I usually fly Delta, but my firm was making me use a Southwest flight credit that was about to expire.

Not a ton of direct ATL to LGA flights on Southwest... The later two were full. The only solution they could offer was Newark by way of St. Louis. I need to be there tonight for a full day of meetings starting at 6:30am, so here I am.

Just landed and not overly impressed. Going to be tough to kill four hours at either Chili’s or California Pizza Kitchen.

This board used to have utility for stuff like this. Now we all suck. Thanks Obama.

Ha, I don't think anyone ever had enough extensive experience with the STL airport to offer good advice on that front.

what's the public transit situation in Austin, especially re: the airport

Last time I flew in I was able to take a pretty easy bus to get downtown like 1 or 2 blocks from our hotel iirc (for like a buck or two). Feel like it was running pretty frequently. Not sure if it has changed much since that was a few years ago.

I think Uber/Lyft are back as options too now.

Howdy Cookout - I saw you across the bar at FF W-S Open trivia earlier this summer but never tracked you down. How's your summer been?

Also, hello CT. I'm not on the boards much anymore (this is my 15th post since the end of May), but it still feels like home. After reading the last 20 posts, it looks like nothing has changed.

Ha, you probably saw DF2009 instead. He actually lives in Winston now.

Hope to see y'all at at least one or two tailgates this year!

D'oh, of course it was.

I think I'll be at every game. Somehow, all my Fall weddings were scheduled during away/bye weeks. It's a great slate: 7 games, decent spacing (no random 5 game stretches), only one game affected by the Fair, and all 3 in-state opponents appearing at Groves.

We'll prob hit up at least one of the UL, FSU, NCST stretch, maybe more. Then we'll prob try to go to the Clemson game with wife's cousin who went there.

That reminds me I need to text my bro-in-law about a trip to an LSU game this year that he wants to do with his future bro-in-law (marrying his sister).

Depends on your airline (I.e. Terminal) and where you're heading.

If you fly any major airline, you'll be in the main terminal. You can catch the #20 bus for a couple of bucks and it'll take you downtown, past campus, and then head east. Ride is between half an hour and an hour depending on traffic and destination.

If you're on a budget airline, you'll fly into South terminal. You can take a 25 minute shuttle from there to the main terminal.

Uber and lyft are widely available, and depending on the time of day should cost you between $15-25 to downtown.

Bus routes are generally very good heading north/south and generally bad heading east/west.

Happy to answer more questions if you have 'em
