The 2019 College Football Thread ! LSU NATIONAL CHAMPIONS ! CLEMSON SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!

As most here know, I am a UGA fan (son who is an alum) and I am shocked at this line. I couldn’t bring myself to root for Notre Dame, so I wouldn’t bet this game. But I’ll be surprised if UGA covers.

When was the last time ND was an underdog by 14 points or more?
Are they really going to get whipped tomorrow?

(Biff not allowed to answer)
From CBS Sports' preview:

"Since 2011, the Irish have played four games against teams ranked in the top 5 at the time. They are 0-4 in those games straight up and 1-3 against the spread. The one time they covered was as a 9.5-point dog against Florida State in 2014. The other three times the Irish lost to No. 4 Stanford (2011), No. 2 Alabama (2012 BCS title game) and No. 2 Clemson (2018 CFP semi). They lost those three games by an average of 23 points while never entering either game as more than a 10.5-point underdog."

So, I'm going to guess... no time in recent memory? Certainly prior to 2011. I'm not finding any answers online yet. (Sorry if you think Google is cheating, but I honestly don't know the answer and I am actually curious.)

ND was 17.5 point dogs to USC in 2016, they were shitty that year

The line seems a little high to me but I'm not surprised that it has been bet up a little by the public for Georgia given ND's reputation recently in big games.

Vegas line opened at exactly where SP+ has the line, but Sagarin has it Georgia -3 (really just the homefield advantage). The top three in SP+ (Alabama, Georgia, Clemson) would all be 6+ point home favorites over everyone else in the country based on those ratings - so it's not even that Notre Dame is "bad" in any metrics (ranked 10th in SP) simply that the top three, including 2nd Georgia, are all really good so far.

What’s the biff connection to UGA again? Was there at least a grad degree there or is it just straight Walmart fandom?
Didn't Biff grow up near Atlanta?

Yeah. Was a kid in 1980. Multiple family members an a thousand friends who went there. Glad everyone is fascinated.

What’s the point of an anonymous message board if you can’t make up a story about Herschel Walker coming to your birthday party and playing football with you and your friends?

I am the love child of Vince Dooley and Uga III’s sister.

Holy shit Michigan is way worse than I could’ve even expected. Just sloppy in every facet.

I don’t enjoy seeing a Florida won but I’m really enjoying watching Tennessee get clobbered. 17-0 Gators at the half.
