ManU and Arsenal are shadows of their former selves, ManU in particular. That was a painful game to watch.

It's clear that:

1) neither team is fielding their full strength first teams
2) these teams are not top 4 quality

On the Arsenal side, Calum Chambers was not ready to play that position against Daniel James yesterday. He got consistently torched and they had to throw a second guy in there. But also Emery not playing Dani Ceballos is really weird, they always look better when he's out there. I thought Saka looked bright but he's still not Lacazette. And it was clear every time United broke with speed yesterday that a team with Xhaka, Luiz, Sokratis, etc., is just too old and slow for the modern prem. They deserve a younger and better midfield and defense. That defensive/central midfield has been shaky since Santi Cazorla. What could have been with Ozil...

On the United side, I don't particularly think Martial is elite, but he's certainly a player missing. And they definitely haven't found their 20+ goal a year striker in this side. Seems like an uneven level of quality throughout. Maguire was an upgrade, but Lindelof is utter shit. Pogba is really good, but Fred and McTominay and Pereira and the rest of the midfield are not remotely at his level. Rashford and Martial are good but inconsistent, and Greenwood is 18 (today). They have a lot more squad building to do.

2) Are you saying their not Top-4 quality based on what you think the #4 team in the EPL should be or have you looked at the table and you see a solid handful of teams you think are better than Arsenal, who are currently tied for 4th ? Because Tottenham and Chelsea aren't exactly world beaters right now either.

I think third and fourth are solidly Leicester and Chelsea's. Arsenal's shot numbers for/against with quality included are really, really bad this season.

All subject to change with squads getting healthy and the January window and such. Too early for any of this talk.

From Champions League Final to out in the group stage.

Pretty boring first half for United against Alkmaar. United hasn't even come close to getting a shot on goal.

0-0 draw with United getting zero shots on target. This team has so many problems.

What's the consensus on why Pulisic isn't getting any minutes at Chelsea? Is it because the other guys like Mount, Abraham etc are outplaying him on the training ground, or is Lampard just biased against American players, or what?

Tough to say without knowing what's happening in practice or how he's responding. Pulisic hasn't taken his opportunities all that well on the field though compared with Mount, Willian and even Hudson Odoi. He's been far from a focal point and disappears often. That said, he hasn't had many opportunities either, which is surprising. Lampard didnt sign him, so maybe he isnt as into Pulisic's talent as others. Or maybe Pulisic hasn't responded well to Lampard's coaching.

Lot of talk on twitter about how Pulisic said something to the media about being disappointed in his playing time and Lampard was sending a message. Never saw a link to where Pulisic said that though so who knows.
