Pinstripe Bowl vs Michigan State

We will be weaker at cornerback.

Losing Basham and replacing with? Johns is good on one side - like him a lot.

Safeties should be very, very good. We seem always to have 1 good one and a serviceable other Safety, yet 2020 we will have 2 really exceptional ones (maybe 3).

We should have more speed at LB if we play Hudson and...we still have guys (LB) at Death Valley who were so juked out, they are stuck in the field. That true FR that flipped to Oklahoma would have played NY.

Interior DL - looks good.

Kicker - best in college football.

Punter - we will be worse.

Kickoffs - good lord.

Agree, I like Johns a lot too. I would like to see Mike Allen moved back to rush end and given another chance to live up to the expectations we had for him.

Did you watch any of that game Saturday ? We got carved up by a backup quarterback. Our defense is as bad as it was last year. How do you look at anything we have coming back and think we're in good shape ?

it's almost as if he's Complacent !

would be interesting to play Washington in the Sun Bowl. Would Petersen coach? Or would it be yet another bowl with an interim coach?

Haha. Read between the lines. I just wrote that our cornerbacks will suck, our linebackers are slow and we only have 1 decent defensive end.

Better?

I do like our safeties.

Unless you are breaking down WF's practices and the game film of our recruits not sure how anyone can know how good WF corners will be next year. Essang Bassey and Amari Henderson effectively played as true and redshirt freshman in 2016. After essentially starting for 3 years, no one was going to supplant them this year. While its a concern that both will be gone, WF has heavily focused on CB recruiting over the last 3 recruiting cycles, and it's reasonable to think that WF will have corners that can play. FWIW, Coby Davis effectively played nickel corner as a true freshman in 2017. He is an excellent athlete and will have two years of knee recovery behind him when next year starts. With multiple options at safety, could see Davis playing corner next year.

While I was critical of him early in the year, Ryan Smenda picked it up at the end of the year (10 tackles against VT, 11 against Duke, 9 against Cuse). Smenda never redshirted, and will be an experienced 3rd year player at LB next year. WF will get DJ Taylor back at LB, and look like they have some talented true frosh in Chase Jones and Jaylen Hudson. Will see how it all comes together, but think the defense could be better next year despite the losses.

Ja’sir picked his game up this year, so I think if we can get one other younger corners up to speed we’ll be ok.

Lucky guy. Pretty sweet area to go to school.

Are you sure? I may be all wet, but I thought Ole Miss had a leg up on the Dogs in that one.

Sorry. MSU is bowl eligible, not Ole Miss. I included Indiana because there have been projections that the Music City Bowl and Gator Bowl may agree to help each other. Indiana vs. Kentucky in Nashville. At this point in time it's all guess work and opinion.
