that site says warren is further left than sanders, hmmm

I hate quizzes like this, because I know they are harvesting that data like woah.

For a bunch of people who post about Russian election interference a lot (a lot), y’all sure are willing to hand over your data to them again lol

the washington post harvesting my opinions on climate change and gun registries is pretty low on my radar

tilt, who are those people (if you don't mind sharing)? i enjoy your perspectives on here and would love to see who you're following.

On poverty/welfare/inequality:
Samuel Hammond (probably the least conservative on the list, I agree with him often) @hamandcheese
Scott Winship @swinshi

On healthcare:
Craig Garthwaite (as a bonus, also has good food tweets) @C_Garthwaite
Amitabh Chandra @amitabhchandra2
Yevgeniy Feyman @YFeyman
Chris Pope (most conservative) @CPopeHC

On Econ/tax policy: Wojtek Kopczuk @wwwojtekk
Alan Cole @AlanMCole
Marc Goldwein @MarcGoldwein
Brian Riedl(most conservative the list, can be a bit obnoxious) @Brian_Riedl

Conservative news/media: Philip Klein @philipaklein

Separate from this and I have no idea what his political leanings are, but I've learned a lot about criminal justice/reform from John Pfaff, I think he is definitely worth a follow. @JohnFPfaff

Who are you guys following that you see a bunch of Bernie Bro posts? My feed leans pretty heavily towards politics, but I don't get a bunch of posts from randos, regardless of who they support.

I don't post on twitter (and I don't go on or post on Facebook and never watch CNN or MSNBC, despite Strick #feelings). But I go to twitter and check out what is trending (I don't have a feed) and that is typically where you find the excellent Bro and Maga takes, like these:

Literally no one is asking but if you want any good ecologists or bird people to follow on Twitter let me know!

LOL Shoo, you're such a rube. Those are literally random accounts. You have no idea who they are, if they're real, or if they're bots. You don't know their post counts or whether they're even public figures. The algorithim is working exactly as it was intended to, to spark Shoo's outrage and get those clicks!

birdman - who are your favorite general interest science follows? I follow a few climate people that I really like (but whose posts are far too technical for me like 75% of the time), but probably should follow more science tweeters.

I agree with Strick that it’s important to also look to other sources to get other voices or you’ll be stuck in a bad echo chamber. .

Completely agree with this -- but it was Strick who says he never sees any of the Bro stuff in his feed, so who has the echo chamber? I don't have a feed, I don't have an echo chamber (outside of this board), I'm looking at literally what were the three biggest trends on twitter.

#anecdotes and all, but at least we have some evidence that not all Bernie bros are white dudes

That's my fucking point, you dolt. Thousands of random accounts with thousands of likes.

Shoo, I follow just under 1000 accounts and don't see Bernie Bro discourse. I haven't seen #neverwarren today except from pundits discussing how stupid it is. I have literally never clicked the #trending tab on the corner of the interface. You know where that comes from and why it exists, right? To rile you and the rubes up so that they - and bots - will click on things and generate ad revenue. Well done. You know who is pushing those otherwise random accounts? Twitter. That's because your odd obsession and rage at a boogeyman (the Bros!) is $$$ in their pocket.

And also, based on your stated media consumption patterns and posts on here, I'm not sure you're in a position to call anybody a dolt. I honestly had no idea that you were such a rube. I honestly thought that you were just an angry disaffected micro-old liberal. You live and you learn, I guess.

See, this is a real anecdote. Something being the top trending topic on twitter is a bit less of an anecdote. And I guarantee you are giving twitter more money and clicks than I am.

So me not watching CNN, MSNBC, or Fox News, not looking at Facebook, and not having an echo chamber feed on twitter, is a frowned upon media consumption pattern. Ok, buddy.

i wasn't aware that a hashtag can trend on twitter if only a smattering of nobodies posts about it
