LOL. At most schools the big donors tell the AD to fire the coach. At Wake the big donors are scared the AD won’t fire the coach. But they keep giving.

I mean what do you want the Wake AD to tweet, “Damn it we won.”? Beating a bad BC team with 4 of their top 7 guys injured and only one healthy frontcourt player isn’t going to change the decision that is made in 2 months.

Of course. But the “biggest acc win” crap is a bit over the top. If he is any less tone deaf than his predecessor I’ve not yet seen it.

It's a big problem in our culture. See that story about Trump berating the generals who just whimpered about it. We like to talk a big game about rugged individualism, but people are hesitant to speak up.

How fucking hard is it to leave politics in the tunnels? I don't want to log on here and hear your fucking political views or talk politics. Just stop.

He could have said nothing which would have said A LOT. It's odd. We have some of the most well-educated alums on planet earth but an AD that speaks to them as if they're borderline illiterate. People see through this garbage. At least the ones with any intelligence.

It looks like he tweets something positive after every win for any program. I'm not reading too much into this tweet but I get that fans who have been blown smoke up their collective asses by an previous AD would read a lot into that tweet

Perhaps so. I don't follow him or Wake basketball very closely given the circumstances. There's absolutely nothing wrong with being positive. But, given that we just beat a team that had to play two walk-ons significant minutes, the ra-ra stuff gets a little bit old for fans/alums who've suffered through this for 11 years.

The other ACC teams frequently use similar language when they kick our ass. It's pro forma. The tweet doesn't mean anything.

9-8 (2-5) is not saving Manning's job.

Run the table and get an NCAAT bid, then yes we're stuck with him for another season.

Congratulations to the men’s basketball team in their win against Boston College.

This. At best, saying "great night!" exhibits a similar tone-deafness to his predecessor. At worst, it's signaling to the fanbase that he'll be back another year because the buyout is too high.

And responding to shogun, other ACC teams aren't enduring Year 6 of one of the worst coaching runs in ACC history.

That’s a bold claim to make about a coach with as bad of a record as Manning.
