DFL in the acc again

To be fair I'm not sure we finish DFL this year either. We have some winnable games down the stretch, but I guess everyone does with the ACC being so terrible. It's going to be a dog fight but we have the right man for the job in Danny.

Danny got 18 million dollars guaranteed and a 6 year extension for almost making the NCAA tourney.

Dino got fired after a first round win, and a second round loss to a powerhouse Kentucky team.
 
It's mind-boggling that we have fans/alumni who still believe Dino Gaudio was fired for on court performance and lack of postseason success.
 
If we finish DFL, at least Year 7 Danny won't have to face a juggernaut like Northwestern or Nebraska in the ACC/B1G Challenge, since we won't be invited.

Wellman had some greatest generation "get off my lawn" moment where he believed that we could transform Wake basketball into a modern day Hoosiers and he started a chain of events where he destroyed the program for 10 plus years.

It certainly wasn't the Cleveland State incident since Wellman extended Dino's contract 6 months later.

I think the bigger goal is the ACC record for most conference losses in a season. With the 20 game schedule, everything is lining up perfectly !

What was Dino actually fired for that happened in the 6 months between when Wellman announced his extension and when he was actually fired? There's never been an answer to that question from people who don't think he was because of Dino's continued late season collapses or for Wellman to get his buddy over to Wake.

I think the oral sex incident had something to do with it but no idea how. Possible that Dino initial steps were problematic?

But Wellman be gone. This is Currie's show now. There are two things he just has to do in the next 9 months - three things - fire Manning, hire a coach that excites the fan base, and gets more butts in the seats for Football. Those three things are critical and he simply has to know it. He basically said as much in his introductory press conference.
