Donald Impeachment

Hopefully people realize that politics is a game between one team trying to play by the rules and another team who just wants to name their own score.

and Lamar Alexander is the latest in a long line of republicans to tarnish his career and the way history looks at him by sucking up to the the worst human being to ever be president. Hope it was worth it, Lamar.

Usually the President not being on the ticket hurts Democrats. Did we blow our load in 2018? Are there more new voters to get?

Hell no we didn't blow our load in 2018. There has been a shit ton of new voters registering and of those new voters, Dems are outpacing Pubs. In addition, more and more shitty Boomers and Silent Generation are dying off every day. Donald barely won MI/PA/WI and I see at least PA and MI swinging back. Arizona is swinging blue and if you assholes would get your shit together in NC then it would be a wrap. The problem is, as the Captain pointed out above, the GOP are crooked as all hell and will cheat as much as possible to win.

History won’t remember Lamar Alexander.

History won’t remember Lamar Alexander.

Sure they will. He was a long serving senator who is played a key role in an impeachment trial. How many of those guys are there in history. Will average dumb fuck Americans remember him- certainly not. But the kind of people who write history books will be very interested in republicans who appeased trump. I’m sure you’re familiar with Neville chamberlain’s place in history as an example.

All the republicans appeased trump. The list is too long. No one will care about them. They achieved nothing. History will remember McCain, Pelosi, and probably Schiff. No one else is relevant enough.

So Senator Lamar Alexander thinks withholding congressional aid from an ally in a war with an adversary of the US in order to obtain assistance in a domestic election is "inappropriate" but is not a high crime or misdemeanor.

What would be a high crime or misdemeanor?

Well that depends on the context. If Trump did it, it’s not a high crime or misdemeanor

Maybe these owg republicans think a high crime involves weed.

That's all I got. There is literally no actual explanation that makes sense. Of course they are doing all this to desperately hold on to power but... it's mind boggling and will have very real and likely unintended consequences for years to come.

Proud moment for NC last night when Richard Burr, retiring GOP senator with no Trump retribution to face and also the chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee asked a question...about the Steele dossier. What a fucking pussy.

it's where our incredible Constitution comes through once again. Trump's actions don't theoretically match up to some vague phrase in a 300-year old document, therefore he's totally exonerated.

Don’t blame the Constitution. Blame those who rely on a nonsensical interpretation of the Constitution to justify their actions.

They will be remembered as a block of Pubs that were too chicken shit to stand up to Trump, or heros that backed a courageous leader, depending on how November 2020 goes. Romney is the only name that might stand out in the History books besides McConnell.

The Romney mention in the history books will still be in the capitulation section. It’ll be that “my name is Reek” picture of him dining with Trump.

Dems should have charged Extortion.

Regardless, I have no illusions it would have made any difference.

Agreed, this is the correct word for what Trump did with Ukraine

The GOP is a principle-less turd pile. It never mattered how the Dems handled this. They need to just focus on the media narratives now and convince people like you to vote for who ever the Dem nominee is.

Then the conversation would be about how extorting a foreign government isn’t a misdemeanor.
