2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

Ok this is basically everything the Bernie “conspiracy” folks were predicting. That the data being released earlier was cherry picked to spin a positive narrative for Pete. You also now have previously released precinct data which is different than the data being released by the Iowa DP. And guess who is missing votes? Bernie.

You Tammany bros have no problem with this? Its not suspicious at all?

Glad the DNC stepped in and is mandating proper accounting and getting to the right answer.

after 2(?) days of articles and tv pundits telling the world that Pete won. The only thing worthwhile about the Iowa caucus results are the narrative - Pete got the winning narrative, and Bernie didn't. That's it. Maybe they actually tied, maybe Bernie won, it honestly doesn't matter now, and it's time to move on.

Well, you have sailor's swiss-cheese brain on your side, so there's that.

I just came across this twitter thread. I hadn't considered it from this perspective before and it took me several reads to get it, but it's an interesting take nonetheless.

It's the same fragile ego issue that so many Trump supporters have. It's win or die on that hill trying in order to protect some inflated sense of self worth instead of seeing the big picture. They can hide behind being "people of their convictions" all they want, but in reality, many are just scared, defensive people who feel like even the smallest loss is too much to take, and is a personal slight against them.

Sometimes I wonder if the party should just break up. I mean the Democratic “big tent” is really only built around a few social issues at this point. Abortion, gays right, etc.

The moderates (aka “woke” Republicans) are too money driven and self-interested to ever enact real societal change. They are not willing to make minimal personal financial sacrifices to improve the plight of those at the bottom of the inequality ladder. And a real primary where the peasants get a vote in selecting the nominee? Forget that, they’d actually rather Jamie Dimon pick their candidate for them.

So really what’s the point?

Biden and Bloomberg = Sanders when it comes to the red.

Turns out everybody’s supporters suck outside Warren and Buttigieg.

We’re fucked.

Eh, some people answering the poll are probably using their and we as a bargaining chip (like mdmh did earlier in this thread). Had no idea Yang supporters would have that many hard his.

it is a little crazy how much this tracks along the narrative that the IDP (or DNC) was releasing results to Pete's benefit

NYT needle as of 9:30pm last night:

I can't figure out it if this mess is hurting or helping Warren? Obviously Peter and Bernard's devotees tearing each other down keeps them in all the headlines, but does Elizabeth get forgotten in that or elevated above it?

she's definitely fallen off the media's radar of "candidate we feel like talking right now"
