I wish the skills challenge had at least 50% more to it
This story is nuts:

I’m glad to see that the dude is turning around his life, but damn we all gotta be better to each other on the internet.
His wife is a hero. I can’t think of a better word.
You read that and wonder why people are so eager to get rid of one and done. Seems like that one year makes so much of a difference. People only think about Lebron, Kobe, and KG not all the flame outs from that era. And Curry fared better than many of them.
Oh definitely. Human development is in a much better place. That Darius Miles piece from a year or so ago makes that point. But I think that year really helps. I don’t see the rush to get these guys into the league. Who was the last rookie All-Star? Blake Griffin? Lebron and Kobe didn’t even do it.
Several of those dunks were all time greats but Gordon had the two best.
True, though NBA teams have gotten much better at coupling human development with talent development. There are some notable exceptions, but the league is a much healthier place now than it was then.
I think guys should have the option to go straight to the pros or spend a year in college. I only say that because a lot of these elite HS prospects have had trouble qualifying in recent years.
ETA: Boys Among Men by Jonathan Abrams captures the early preps-to-pros era better than anything else I’ve read on the subject.
