Wake fandom has been getting new "poles" pretty regularly for ten years now.There is a different level of caring.
On a scale of 1-10, I used to care around 11 (which was probably pretty stupid).
Now I care about a 2 1/2 and dropping.
How much do the people posting here care on a 1-10 scale. Need a new pole.
Seriously though, I rate myself around 5.5 in abstract, but around 2 in general. Obviously, irritated enough to comment/read everything here daily-ish. But checked out/disgusted enough to only sporadically listen/watch an actual game.

The point of my post that a former WFU president was all-in on Wake basketball, big difference with what we have now, an aloof president who washes his hands of the whole mess. As I mentioned in the other thread, I heard last week that the negotiations hit a snag, but that has now turned into an impasse. Not even sure if the negotiations are continuing even anymore. I SERIOUSLY hope this source is wrong, seriously

Then you fire the sonofabitch and make him sue for his money. You have a defense of his gross incompetence coupled with a good faith effort to get it worked out. Well, in that case, gotta hope that the contract stipulates that Wake can pay the money out over the 5 years, with an equal or pro-rated amount each year. We should be able to come up with that money if its spread out over 5 years from donors right?
I still don't quite understand this scoopage because why would you enter into or attempt to begin negotiations if you didn't already know the answer to the question? You don't check the temp and then back off cuz 'ol stubborn Danny won't budge. Either you've decided to piss or get off the pot. Right? But if that's Currie's only play -- the hope that Danny will be magnanimous and be happy with negotiating a lump sum settlement outside the terms of a very peculiar contract -- then we are duly screwed.
