Paranormal Activities

Just got back from the library. IMO it's definitely Milton Hobbs, and he's pissed over how the land was divyd up. He didn't have a will, and was part of a few dozen lawsuits obtaining land during his life, presumably for debts that people couldn't pay him. His last wife and children were all sued after his death and they ended up auctioning most of his lands on the front steps of the courthouse.

He was married 4 times, and I got all the names and dates and even a copy of a couple marriage certificates.

I also found the newspaper article where the child died in the crib. I'll try to type up the story later on tonight. Made some incredible headway today.

So he's dead then?

Awesome! And the good doctor was married 4 times? Wow!

Wives:
1st: Irena Foster Hobbs (11/19/1810 – 7/27/1846) on 3/1/1838
2nd: Caroline Williams Hobbs on 10/24/1846
3rd: Sarah Ann Bailey Hobbs on 12/7/1847
4th: Elizabeth Call Hobbs “Betty?” (3/24/1835 – 5/17/1906) on 12/27/1865

According to the book on Civil War veterans from Davie County, it lists David Call returning to the Fulton Township (where all of this is going on) and becoming a farmer. He and Elizabeth had 3 children:
Children (3):
Sarah 1860-
Lewis 1862-
Mary B 1865-

The more that I find out, I'm thinking Elizabeth Call Hobbs might be a different one than the one that married David. Sue Anna Call Orrender is floating around in la la land, and isnt listed as one of the 3 children of Elizabeth and David and was born in 1862. So I think the linkage on findagrave is off.

The newspaper issues from Dr Hobbs death and Elizabeth's death are missing from the archives so that'll do me no good. I may go back this afternoon to look up some more info on the other wives.

Does anyone know when the state started issuing death certificates? I think it was around the time of the start of Social Security. Having those would help a lot, but I think that may be a dead end.

OK, not to hijack, but this seems the most appropriate place to put this. I need help identifying an image and trying to determine how it got into a photo.

Last night, while watching football, RDToy used her phone to take a picture of our oldest dachshund Bella. She only took one picture, but there are two on her camera now. She didn't notice that last night and posted the second one on FB. Here is the image:

Just above Bella's shoulder is a superimposed image of some zombie/ghost chick that looks really familiar. Here is the closeup of it:

Can someone ID the ghost/zombie girl? I am trying desperately to figure out how it got doubled into an image from RDToy's phone. I don't see how it could have been anything reflected off the TV. The angle is all wrong and nothing like this was on last night anyway.

As of right now, the only theory I have is that our house is haunted by a miniature ghost that rides wiener dogs.

No worries on hijacking, this thread was designed for all sorts of paranormal activities. No clue on the random person, but I definitely was drawn to that image when I looked at the picture.

How old is your house?

I think you're right on the findagrave combining results for the two Elizabeth Calls. It still looks to me like the Elizabeth that married Dr. Hobbs had Sue Anna out of wedlock.

Births and deaths have been registered in North Carolina state government offices only since 1913. Prior to 1913, the state of North Carolina did not use birth records or certificates of any kind. No death records are available at the state government offices prior to 1909.

My house was built in 1984. As far as I know, nothing crazy went down here.

I swear I have seen that girl in a show/movie/video game before. Maybe it's becuase she is the archetypal ghost girl.

I was just hoping someone could see the image and say, "Oh yeah, that's 'so and so' from the movie..." And then I could figure out, maybe, how it got mixed into this image.

Do you know what was on the property prior to your house?

Here are a few interesting things I found out. Rather than make copies, I just took pictures with my cell phone. Possibly illegal, but oh well.

Its the Civil War bios of David Call and Julius Hobbs (son of Milton), and the marriages. If I go back today, I'm going to try and find the marriages of David Call and see what I can find and hope to close the book on that loophole.

Probably a ghost of a teenage girl, just have Boogity tell her she has beautiful eyes. Should take care of it.

Maybe the kid ghost just likes to stand behind the couch and watch tv. Have you tried taking more pictures to see if you can capture it again?

March 30th 1922 Mocksville Enterprise

Our community was shocked on last Tuesday evening, March 21st, when the tragic death of Mr and Mrs Milton Livengood's little child occurred. Mrs Livengood went over to a near neighbors for a few minutes and when she returned she found that the oldest child who was asleep when she went out, had waked up, and the youngest child who was about 8 months old, whom she left in the crib had burned to death! How this aweful accident happened is yet to be solved. It is supposed that the fire must have popped into the crib. Our deepest sympathy goes out ot the bereaved parents. Rev. HT Penry conducted a beautiful funeral service on Wednesday in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and friends. The floral offering was beautiful which was evidence of the high esteem in which these good people are held.

No, we just saw it this morning. Actually, we didn't even notice it. A friend of RDToy's pointed it out on FB and then we have been trying to figure out how it happened.

When we went back into the camera app on her phone there are actuall two saved pictures, even though she only took one. One picture is normal. The last picture is the first picture again, but with the ghost image. However, in her slideshow, neither picture will load.

Maybe her phone is haunted.

Oh how sad! It sounds like it did happen in the house, not at the neighbor's. Most likely the crib was too close to the fire & when some embers blew out & hit the bedding, the crib & baby burned. :tear:

Thats what I cant figure out. I need to go back and review the deeds to the house, and the house where the local historian said it happened. She also said the baby died of smoke inhalation, but it sounds to me like the baby burned according to that report. If the house she said it happened in was owned by someone else, while Milt and Annie owned our house, thats proof enough to me that it happened in our house.

I think we are overlooking the possibility that after being married four times Milt is just looking for some peace and quiet.
