Manning Buyout Negotiations Have Begun

I have been told by someone that would know that sportsnut1 is a very credible source. So that is who I am going to wait on. He has been quiet the last day or two which is a bit concerning.
 
After reading the Hatch letter last night, I have a hard time believing he will approve a firing at this time.

Can you read??? giving you info i heard from a small time donor who has been going to games for 30 years. not sure if he would know or not. just passing it along. not my info so not sure how its comical.

I'll likely remain a part of this community but my interest in basketball is already nearly non existent. Been holding out hope that changes. At this point i am not sure I'll bother even if they fire manning. I really am not sure.
 
I've been a critic of Bigboy but to be fair, I have heard so many different pieces of information from so many donors and other people VERY close to the situation. That's why I no longer claim to be a top-5 boards source by any stretch. However, it sounds like Danny reaaaaally won't budge at all. I think Wake wants as cordial and mutually beneficial split as possible but there may be some wording in that contract that totally has us bent over.

I've spoken to a lot of people and heard a lot of views and there are more people saying he's gone. Before the whole flight tracker deal on Beilein I was told that Beilein was in WS...So, take it FWIW. I will stick to my educated prediction that Danny is gone and we are going to land a big name coach.

If Manning had done a halfway decent job, I’d understand his inflexibility. But, he’s been HORRIBLE! Horrible record, horrible fan turnout, horrible graduation rate, etc. Nice if he’d acknowledge that and cut us a break. If he IS back, he’ll be the second most despised man in WS.

I think that is really unlikely to happen. Both Nike and Adidas have already postponed their spring AAU events (and will eventually straight cancel them).
Talked to a local AAU guy in Atlanta yesterday, he doesn't expect any AAU events until June at the earliest.

I fully expect the NCAA to continue their current dead period (with only phone calls and texts allowed through the end of May).
 
Pretty sad D(FL)M was able to work WF over so hard with his contract. I don't blame him one bit for milking every cent we agreed to. Just shows how poorly RW managed the basketball program for years. Goes back to mishandling the Dino situation...not naming him interim, looking like a fool for extending him and then firing him and limiting our funds for hiring a new coach, totally missing on anyone decent and trying to sell (and stick with) Bz-aster. D(FL)M seemed like a desperate hire by a desperate AD and that totally played out to be true. The amount of money we are going to flush down the toilet over all this is just mind boggling. Wake Forest wears clown shoes.
 
What Creamy said, its been tough to get a good handle on whats goin on, but the last 10 years have shown us the higher ups at Wake are incompetent so anything is possible.
 
As much as I believe Danny Manning is owed exactly what is in his contract, he must be the most stubborn dude I've ever heard of.

WE DON'T WANT YOU TO COACH THE TEAM ANYMORE... WHY DO YOU WANT TO KEEP COACHING THE TEAM IF WE DON'T WANT YOU TO?

How could that be a fun situation? How could the players play under a coach that nobody wants to be there? How could he recruit?

This has reached the point of no return... He's gone. The issue is going to be having enough $$$ to pay for the next coach.
