ALL PRAISE JOHN CURRIE FOR ACTING A YEAR TOO LATE

Honestly this shit is beyond embarrassing. We could have let local high school coaches take turns stepping in and coaching for our home games. Would have been more fun and helped attendance. The fact that WE as an institution have been ok with this clown as our coach for this long is pathetic. All the excuse making for Currie is pathetic. Get it done or get the fuck out.
 
Currie should hold a presser and say Danny Manning is fucking fired. Fired because he’s goddamn terrible. And this shit is not acceptable for any ACC program. No I don’t have a coach yet. But I’m working on it. My assclown predecessor fucked us hard on the way out the door so I’m still raising money for the buyout. But fuck it. Manning is still fucking fired and eventually we will hire someone who can coach. In the mean time the bullshit stops here. What the hell difference does it make anyway? We are fucking clowns. Atleast grow a set and have some dignity.
 
Turd is right. Over the last 10 years, Wake has averaged 19 losses per season. AVERAGED 19 losses. Over the 57 seasons (since the founding of the ACC) Wake only lost 19 or more 2 times.

There is no excuse for Manning still being the head coach at Wake. Currie should have fired him the day after the season ended. If the contract is fully guaranteed, let Manning take Wake to court to get it. Our only defense would need to be 13-19, 11-20, 19-14, 11-20, 11-20, 13-18. Then ask how can someone perform that poorly and expect to keep their job.

I would love to think Manning’s contract would enable us to do that. I want him gone as much as anyone. Would 13-19, 11-20, 19-14, 11-20, 11-20, and 13-18 stand up in court as a legal way by which to void the remainder of his contract?

I have not read his contract and even if I had, I’m not a lawyer, so I couldn’t say.

What amazes me is that with the apparent attitude of Wake and your own attitude, I cant figure why YOU don't get out. It's been more than clear for a long time they are not going to get rid of him for reasons they have no intentions of sharing with ordinary fans. A sad situation.
 
I agree that in most cases , coaches go need time to bring in recruits , get everyone on same page with offensive and defensive philosophies etc. it used to be give a coach 5 years , now I think it’s more like 3 years gives you a good idea of what kind of coach you have. Athletic directors don’t need time. They have one main priority, to hire the best coaches they possibly can in every sport they offer at they school. You don’t need 5 years or 3 years or even 11 months on the job to realize that the most important sport at your school has a woefully inadequate coach. The AD’s job is to get the best possible Coach he can and not let a sport wither on the vine. Currie knew even before he excepted the job what we have in Manning and here we are 11 months later and absolutely nothing has changed except another dead last finish and another pitiful recruiting class . It’s so fucking obvious what needs to be done but it still hasn’t been done. It’s a failure of leadership.
 
So who were all the great coaches available in MAY last year? Most of the board favs* were already in new spots. Would you want a coach who would abandon his team at that time?

Or has it all just been total bullshit?

He has said that the state of both Wake Basketball programs is not what he wants, nor what Wake fans deserve. So yeah, he has obliquely addressed and acknowledged that issue.

Lol. In the history of time, no one has ever described me as doing this but quality post regardless. This is a small community of Wake fans who are miserable and Holding onto hope that we will turn things around on the court. But anyways, sorry to trigger you, bro.

There may be some things the AD is trying to nail down before any announcements are made. I posted on another thread about the unknowns we are facing and received some comments about being negative and all this would blow over soon. Truly I am not negative confess to knowing no more than anyone else. However, I think we all can agree no one really knows when practices begin or even when competition may resume. Just for discussion, what if we buyout Manning, spend a couple of mission on another coach and, heavens forbid, there is no 2020 basketball season? There would be some critical comments about paying someone to do nothing. Of course we could fire DM and not name a coach, but that would lead to more uncertainty and speculation. There may also some negative PR about spending millions for a buyout and millions more for a new coach when people are losing jobs. There could be other concerns like lost revenue if forced to play in empty arenas

Do I know any of this, of course not. But do any of know what is going to happen. My personal opinion is we will have a new coach. I'm willing to give Currie the opportunity to get as much clarity as possible before making and/or announcing it.
