I hear you. I think for most of us it just the importance of getting Trump out. Biden may not be the leader we want, but I feel confident that he will not do nearly as much to destroy our hope for the government we need.
As a country, we are never going to be excited about the entirety of a candidate and her platform.
 
People seemed excited about Obama and Trump, to name two recent examples.

Glad you're chuckling. Sometimes your smug e-delivery is grating but no disrespect intended. I understand the frustration with the entirety of everything happening in the world. Especially as we continue to see more and more evidence of how broken things are.

I did not want Bernie or biden to run. I'd be willing to bet most here did not either. Bernie is not helping. I was terrified of Biden after his... mediocre, at best, live appearances. I felt a little better about his mental health when I found out he was a stutterer (no idea how I never realized that). Shows a lot that, at his age, he is still trying to overcome it and put himself in such a high pressure situation that likely exacerbates it. Maybe its naive but the world is and has changed. Biden may have led the charge for shitty things (looking at you crime bill and anita hill) but I believe he, as I, see things differently now. I also think he'll surround himself with some good people and plans for change. I am not confident that there will not still be old guard DNC types getting in the way. The right VP choice MAY be able to wield some power to push him left. Like russia pushed the gop platform post nomination.
 
Being smug or firing off shitposts is a defense mechanism for being chronically depressed and anxious. Trying to be better but again it’s a coping mechanism so it happens. I’m prone to being too emotional and have a hard time not sharing and a hard time holding back when I do share. It is what it is. I’ve tried not posting and I’m just as in my head as when I post. Not an excuse for being shitty to people so I try not to be ad hominem towards other posters, but sometimes I am. I appreciate this community because it’s a lot of smart people who disagree with one another pretty amicably.
