A little update on how this $350 million is going out to small businesses: The government application program goes online tonight, and our relatively small bank has 600 applications. They are expecting maybe 5 to go through until the system runs out of money, that is, if the system doesn't crash first. The instructions were first posted yesterday. So $350 billion in 5 minutes, first come, first serve, until the funds run dry.
 
To become the captain of that carrier, he had to have been a superstar for decades. This guy would have been on the short list to be Secretary of the Navy at some point in his career. Of course, Trump would fire him for telling the truth and trying to protect his sailors.

Trump is pure evil.

A $350B first come, first serve free money handout doesn't seem very bright.

And when I'm thinking of small businesses suffering during this crisis, I'm not really thinking about banks. "Give us the small business money so we can lend it to small businesses for a profit."

That isn't how the program works.
 
Yeah our accountant has has been prepping his clients with emails every night on application process in the lead up. Seems ridiculous/bad system but it’s the one currently in place. as with most financial things, the people/businesses who need the most help are not going to navigate the system well and will get hosed.

We’re not applying for a loan (for now)

The Secretary of the Navy isn’t usually a career sailor.
 
My dentist friend has his application teed up so he can pay his people.
 
We don’t have to act like the military was a bastion for fair and competent leadership before Trump took office.
