The art of the deal.
well I mean the Dutch are superior merchants....
The art of the deal.
There's going to be massive amounts bankruptcies. Two interesting tidbits frim Andy Slavitt:
1. Primary care doctors (and I'll add other entities in the healthcare system) might go bankrupt.
2) Even as testing is ramping up (still woefully inadequate), the percentage of positive test results is not dropping. This seems really bad.

Evidence emerging that NY outbreak originated primarily from Europe.
Why does percentage of positive test results not dropping seem bad? I would think it is bad if that percentage was getting very high. I honestly though the positive tests would be much higher because you basically have to have strong symptoms and at risk to even get a test.
"Under the new guidance, people who are exposed to someone infected would be allowed back on the job if they are asymptomatic, test their temperature twice a day and wear a face mask, a person familiar with the proposal under consideration told The Associated Press."
This seems not good.

No shit. I think everyone already knew that. While the US, Canada and Aussie did restrict travel from China to a significant degree, they did nothing to stop travel from Europe. And Europe did almost nothing to stop travel from China. Some countries didn't bother to act until around St. Patrick's day - and by that time Italy was reporting thousands of new cases a day.
Why PCPs? They are actually staying quite busy compared to specialists at this time. The PCP offices are seeing patients in clinic, running virtual clinics, and managing outpatient COVID cases. Whereas ortho, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, etc have basically ground to a halt.
I suspect his point is that in some places we can now test seemingly healthy people and the positives are not dropping. Still the right thing to do.
His point about people going bankrupt is a "tell the world something it doesn't already know" moment.
CDC quietly deletes hydroxychloroquine guidance as study hyped by Trump comes into question
The publisher of a French study cited by Trump put out a statement announcing it did not meet "expected standards"

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday quietly removed bizarre guidelines for using the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine as a potential treatment for the new coronavirus. The unproven treatment has been repeatedly hyped by President Donald Trump in spite of the warnings of Dr. Anthony Fauci.
The CDC published "highly unusual" dosing guidance based on "unattributed anecdotes rather than peer-reviewed science" last month amid pressure on federal health officials from Trump, Reuters reported. The agency now appears to have quietly removed those guidelines from its website this week.
