Manning Buyout Negotiations Have Begun

You are turning a character argument into a negotiations argument. To answer your question about negotiations though it all boils down to this as Currie's leverage, I can make your daily life miserable and ensure your failure here at a level that is so bad, even the memories of Danny Manning the player will never be able to get you a job head coaching ever again. I can also screw with your family and friends on the coaching staff. I can be such an asshole that you hate coming to work every day, for fear of how I will continuously fuck with you to ruin your day.

As you point of though, Manning may not care about any of that. Currie may not even want to take it that far. A more honorable man with character and financial security would take the millions and walk away.

any sympathy for manning that i might have had is now gone - this shows manning's true character

Well said.

I am not advocating reopening the country without a significant reduction in the danger. Of course I do not value the economy over lives. However, I am simply stating a fact. I feel for the people living from pay check to pay check whose jobs have been brought to an abrupt halt. I feel also for small businesses that have to fight for a place in the market and may not survive this protracted loss of business. I'm sure all of us feel the same (at least I hope so). There are many casualties to this virus. And the decision to reopen is not likely to be so clear that everyone will agree. Furthermore, there may be some who would like to reduce common wealth to the point that more and more people must depend on the government for basic needs. Not all the laws are altruistic.

With respect to the bold, really?

Haha. This reminds me of that terrible Robbie Benson basketball movie where he comes in as a hotshot freshman, but is terrible and the coach makes his life miserable to make him quit. Of course, the coach in that move is the antagonist (i.e., the bad guy).

I will say a prayer tonight thanking the Lord Jesus that you aren't the AD.

Manning has, ya know, friends and colleagues in the industry. You go your route, good look hiring the next coach - in a number of different sports.

As they say, while teaching is done in a classroom (used to be) - class ain't taught. You're approach is miserable-human being approach. Sounds like something Donald Trump would do.

Manning's attitude appears to be "I've got a golden parachute. You can let me fly the plane or push me out the door. I'm good either way."

Riiiiggghhttt. Conveniently, you gloss over where I point out you started a character argument about Manning, and turned into a negotiation roleplay having nothing to do with the original argument that you were losing. Also, reminding you that you started this "roleplaying" game as Danny Manning and your quote was "fuck you pay me." I should have known better than to roleplay with Gaybone.

Let's just pay the fucking guy what we owe him and move the fuck on. He has every right to insist on his money- that doesn't make him an asshole, even though he may be for other reasons. We are the chumps who gave him such an outrageous contract, now le'ts admit our mistake, take our medicine, and move on to a real coach and some better basketball ahead. Or we can make excuses, try to pinch him for some dollars, and get absolutely nothing accomplished while finishing DEAD FUCKING LAST for a couple of more years.

I can’t decide if you live in a cave or under the same rock as 2&2. You do realize there’s some stuff going on right now that may make it hard to just stroke an 8 figure check, don’t you?

You guys remind me of Bud Selig throwing up his arms and shrugging during the All Star game that ended in a tie.

I mean, y’all mock bigboy but this is a horrible look from the head of a P5 AD. Amateur hour. Just admit it’s a clusterfuck and you’ll move on next year. Recruiting sucks anyway. The product can’t actually get much worse.

As a fan, honesty would go a long way for me right now after a decade of smoke being blown up my ass from Ron Wellman.

What a disaster, lets not answer questions about the most important sport at Wake, thats a bad look for Currie.

I think he’s just embarrassed as hell he couldn’t make it work and can’t think of a good explanation

Agree. I am a Currie fan but that was a pretty awful call to not take questions on Wake's historically most important sport that is a giant clusterf*** right now.

Also in that Twitter thread is Conor saying he hasn’t heard back from the AD on multiple requests for interviews

good lord- the lack of leadership from Currie is just astonishing. He won't answer questions about the most important sport at Wake. Think about that. And he is ducking one of the only reporters that actually gives a damn about Wake Forest.
