Chaundee Brown is gone

You don't know shit. This came out of nowhere.

Ouch, sorry bro. I am not claiming to know a damn thing about what a 20 year old kid is thinking. From everyone that claimed to be in the know, it was certain that Brown would be back at Wake next season, but feared Sarr would leave if Coach stayed. Now Brown is gone, which goes against everything preached on here the past month. My guess is that if he was a friend of mine or a family member, this did not come out of nowhere.

Right, because within the past week he is trying to defend Manning against Conor on social media, and within the same week Conor is breaking a story that he is leaving. Like I said, this all must have happened in the past week. Would love for Conor to give us the full scoop since he broke the story.

I’d heard rumors about Chaundee but they weren’t as rampant as the two guys leaving and Sarr.

Currie is a fucking joke. He won't answer any basketball related questions and that's the epitome of either being a coward or blindly towing the gutless party line. If I wasn't required to make my deacon club donation to get a football parking pass I'd be totally out. I might just try and buy a football parking pass on the secondary market just to prove a point. But I hate making the entire program suffer just to try and punish the administration, we have a number of other fantastic programs (golf, tennis, soccer, football) that need the support.

I know it is extreme but that's how FSU boosters forced a new football coach as they threatened to pull their money or earmark it in a way to defund a bunch of sports, especially women's sports.

You can't earmark giving. I mean, you can, but it doesn't really accomplish anything when there's so much TV/Conference/ticket revenue involved. Budgets are still budgets and money simply gets moved around from one place to cover the other.

True. I had a second sentence that said as much but deleted it before posting as I figured I'd just mention the FSU case. Somehow FSU boosters accomplished it or made the threat work.

Being very good friends with a die hard fsu fan, his take was that it was the boosters raising money to pay Willie's buyout that got the AD to make the switch. According to the little I've been able to read in the past couple weeks on here sounds like John screwed the pooch raising the dinero needed

I struggle to understand how he gets a kid to even commit to his program. The history speaks for itself. 18-20 loss seasons. Players who leave early; as soon as possible and even if they are not ready. And oh yeah, we have to get to the free throw line more often......if it was not tragic it would be funny.

Maybe cause these kids are zero or one star recruits?

Wellman and now Currie have pretty much killed my lifelong Wake fandom. I only passingly care about football and that program is doing great.

Just hard to support something where those in charge do not give the slightest damn about producing a quality product or even graduating players.

The Corona is killing sports anyway so Wake is finally ahead of the curve.

Agreeing with Knowell. I don't care anymore, and perhaps college sports as we knew it is over.

I'd be interested in a "where are they now" style article that follows up with kids that transferred out of wake under manning and how they compared their experiences with the new school-coach.
