On top of his record at Seton Hall and Michigan, it's concerning that Amaker has not built on his success at Harvard. In the five years between 2011 and 2015, he won five regular season championships and went to the NIT once, the NCAA R64 twice, and the NCAA R32 twice. His KenPom ranks were 71, 41, 93, 32, and 75.
In the five years between 2016 and 2020, he won two regular season championships and went to the NIT twice and made zero NCAAT appearances. (They were the second seed in the suspended tournament). KenPom ranks were 171, 112, 141, 114, and 110. By both SRS and KenPom, he has not had a single team in the past five years that was as good as his worst team in the prior five years. A significant, though not overwhelming, amount of their contributions this year came from seniors.
