and why didn't we just have the Eagles take the team to the NC instead of walking there?
 
Turns out we didn’t need someone to coach the men’s basketball team...[wipes away tear]...we needed someone to coach us

I feel like I heard something recent about the Press, like a controversy or something -- mainly about someone being a dickhead, which isn't surprising. And the director of Duke Performances who I liked left kind of abruptly last year, which was also kind of weird. Yeah, fuck those guys. Music building still looks pretty cool and they have a neat instrument collection. But that's as far as I'll go now! Fuck those guys!

I don’t even follow college basketball anymore but I can’t help but be swept up in the new coach fever.

That being said if they hire a Dukie I’m done forever with Wake. In every sport. I’ll just let my wife and step parents turn my son into a UNC fan. I’ll will check out on college athletics.

I’ll talk to my kid about how I use to root for Wake but then the school was taken over by a bunch of snooty losers and I couldn’t support them anymore.

I’ve been able to teach the 4yo to ride without training wheels during the quarantine, so there’s that. The baby also shit directly beside her potty and then picked it up and put it in the bowl, so progress?
 
I've been in and around higher ed too long, the cynicism flows freely and is coming out my eyeballs and pores. Yet still only one of the few situations in which I can imagine working, and everyone tries to fuck it up -- gotta get their piece. Big Sports is a huge part of that, but it would be sort of nice to know that I could choose to be distracted by Wake basketball occasionally, again, though college ball as we know it will probably die soon. But I get caught up in a bit and then take a step back and realize I don't care all that much, but following the search is still kinda fun. It's like soccer transfer season.
 
Suppose you are given a coin with Forbes on one side, Miller on the other. You are also given a dice with Miller, Forbes, Beilein, Matta, Kelsey, and Amaker as the 6 faces. One chance, whoever comes up is our coach the next 6 years. Do you flip the coin or roll the dice?
 
I'd probably do coin.. as a WFU fan I fully expect that a roll of the dice would lead to the one outcome I don't want the most (Amehker)
