Not sure what you mean by drivability

Cause most high performance cars I’ve driven haven’t been electric

Niceness to drive. Acceleration, cabin noise, ease of driving in traffic, etc.

Handling can be good or bad depending on the car. For instance, the Bolt is just ok. The Jaguar I-Pace is fantastic.

The only reason most high performance cars haven’t been electric is because the technology has gotten so much better so quickly. Unless you’re talking Lambo level high performance though, your average Tesla will drive much better than your average BMW.

Wfu is 100% on point.

Driving my truck feels realllly weird after my tesla. Regenerative braking is such a nice feature - barely ever have to use the brakes. Drove from Denver down past Colorado Springs and back this morning without needing to charge. And until you've driven with autopilot in traffic you won't know what you're missing. I'm not one of the assholes watching netflix while it's on, but being able to look around makes longer drives much less fatiguing. I wouldn't pay the extra $$ for the performance in retrospect since I drive like an old person most of the time, but it's fucking insane. 0-60 in like 3 seconds

Neat

I’m a poor and I drive a 2008 Altima

However my finest driving experience was renting an Alfa Romeo in Tuscany, can recommend

Compared to driving a friend’s Prius it wasn’t quite fair

My buddy had an 85 Isuzu Trooper that was fun as shit to drive because his dad didn’t give a fuck about it and the top speed was like 35 mph so we really couldn’t do much damage.

Yeah, electrics drive very differently and much better than hybrids. Priuses in particular have always been pretty crappy to drive.

My rental while waiting on the insurance company was a 2020 Ford Edge. Going from that to a Bolt was like being transported a century into the future. That thing was so horrible to drive.

I failed the no drinking challenge. I was bored and wasn't thinking. I opened a beer. If I'm gonna have a cheat day, minus whale be a big one

I dont own a car, I cannot participate in this conversation.

That’s understandable. When I lived in Manhattan, I didn’t have a car either. It seemed like a ridiculous idea.

Yup. There was some additional incentive for my zip code and I think the dealership gave me some incentives that I technically didn't qualify for, but they offered it so . You got yours at the same time? And I guess you're right. There's still a part of me that wouldn't feel super comfortable driving through the Nevada desert and hoping that ABRP was right about where charging stations are, but it's probably not a major risk.

You got affirmative action for a car? Neat.

$999/mo?!?!?!

Its not a good solution, but monthly rentals are more expensive than that - it also ends up being $895 per month, not that its much better. This whole quarantine has been a learning experience. I debated about buying a car, but then I have nowhere to put it when I get back, so figured all the upfront costs plus loss on whatever I take when I re-sell it would be more than $3k-$4k.

I mean, if we want to talk about stupid financial decisions, I am also paying my NYC rent while not living there.

Count me in for paying SF rent but not having lived there since February

Did I win?

Sorry about my circumstances y'all. Hate when shit like that fucks a game but at least I was bobby bonilla

Those things were so well made. I had a '91 that I put about 240k on, sold it for 3k and that guy got another 100k+
Merging with Chevy killed a great vehicle.

I want oysters now

I swear I responded to this days ago. It was really funny too.....

Something something...Rocky MTN Oysters...and then something else smart and funny. Guess you had to be there.
