Rush Mafia - Game Over - Rush Wins Again

I'm not sure that I think the game design was unbalanced in this one. Maybe slightly, but whatever. We just got a bad bounce on JTPs power. It's an element of randomness that could swing win prob by 30-40% probably. The modal outcome is 2 civs, 1 maf and that result doesn't hurt anywhere near as bad.

Yeah I thought this game was really well done.

Or if one of the maf is gf and JTPs role could give a false result

Top 3 Rush songs (for BYM):

Red Barchetta
The Spirit of Radio
Subdivisions or Vital Signs

Dude, Eagles can fucking welcome himself to my world. You just have to accept that you get 4...maaaaybe 5 days to impact the game and fucking go from there. Either (1) as a civ clear as many civs/find as many mafia as you can, or (2) as a badguy, pave the way to an end game for your teammates.

Eagles is a super cool bro and the father of the modern theory of the game, but heavy lies the crown.

LOL@the googles you view the world thru.

Is there a way to salvage JTP's power? Should it be in groups of 2 and RNGed? Was it just that it was a bad RNG and is probably ok?

I think this setup is ripe for repeated use since there's so much random.

There wasn't a GF though, or even a cop really. A GF would make that power pretty interesting, worth workshopping for a future game.

I do think that this was not power heavy which was a nice change. Single maf no-indy games are +ev for civs for sure

Hard to argue that it wasn't civ sided since RW only ever saw me and I never stopped a hit and we still were at 7-1.

I have personal issues going on which have precluded me reading this since last night. I am happy to have redwing try to explain how me being watched n2 = me being mafia. It makes no sense. I’m aware it sounds like sour grapes but I legitimately do not understand the logic (same with Nonny basically straight lying in his breakdown but it’s all good).

My only note is I tried to not read my pm my first few posts to sound organic entering the thread. After about half hour I read and accessed chatzy and unfortunately was correct about doofus and dv7. Figured GAt was mafia too but he wasn’t.

Thank you for hosting bym and GM.

Knight comparing Eagles to himself legit made me LOL.

Consensus No. 1 in the Pit Mafia Rankings is exactly the same as 20th (or whatever Knight is).

Is there a bad hot takes thread? In no order, the top 3 are

Presto
Natural Science
Hemispheres X-1 Book 2

If I had to pick 3 albums, Clockwork Angels might've worked it's way on that list.

Yeah, for whoever votes on things - thought gouda, JTP, redwing and anonymous all had great games.

Only RW will be appearing in my top 20 off your terrible list. I see your "off game" has continued to the postgame.

I think there are ways to make it work. This was a bad roll, so we may be going over the top on it. We could probably workshop out the outcomes if we want to in order to develop some type of EV calc, but that seems like a lot of work. I'll say my bias (and this is a personal opinion, others can disagree) is that I dislike RNGs as a part of game play.

Gouda civ
Eagles mafia
Rommy civ

Toogs civ
Hoop civ
Mako civ

Doofus mafia
Numbers civ
Townie mafia

Tim civ
SD3 civ
Nonny civ

Redwing civ
Ryala mafia
Jman civ
Knight civ

3/5 would've been BIG trouble for mafia.

I first read it as three groups of people. I think I like this because it becomes more valuable as the game goes on. But perhaps give a cap that it has to be used by n5 so it doesn't just solve the end-game?

There's a card in Magic the Gathering that functions kind of like JTP's role.

You see the top 3 cards in the opponents deck and then separate them into two groups. One group is face up and the other group is facedown. Your opponent then picks one group to keep and discards the other.
