lol the end of that video
I don't think I've as been as angry at any video recently as I was at the Amy Cooper thing going around. Disgusting.
I love that video exists. Cell phones and their cameras are a huge net positive for our society. That probably radically changes once deep-fake gets a little better, but so far so good.
This clip is a good example of making everyday racism visible, sure. But cell phones and camera technology can also used to frame, surveil, and police marginalized bodies and communities too. Probably a good practice to keep negative affordances of this tech in mind.
And my wife can call me 100% of the time and tell me what she wants me to pick up at Harris Teeter.
Imagine BiffTannen in the alternative world without that network !
I'd be okay just walking and driving around talking to people and using the phone at the office and dialing a 800 number to get my voicemails, but I'd be ashamed if everyone else had a smartphone and I didn't since I wouldn't be able to adjust plans on the fly and I'd show up at the wrong restaurant. Also, quarrantine would probably get old after a couple of months.
you'd also not have any of the Person Of Importance Status that comes with being an Internet Moderator
