As a inconsistent recruit follower, why is Beadle only being offered by the likes of Furman and Charleston? Not exactly the recruiting battles I expected us to be in...I give Forbes all the benefit of the doubt in the world, just don't like the look of that...

Maybe it's me, but the sheer number of offers that have gone out over the last week looks a little desperate. I give Forbes benefit of the doubt for sure...just not what I had expected/hoped to see. Clearly, if he starts landing some good recruits, though...I'll be pumped and won't give a damn how many offers we handed out in order to land a top ~30-50 class in his first few years.

In shorthand COVID makes people slip through the cracks and someone who at worst is a top 150 recruit(110 on rivals unranked on 247 as they had no eval period) with no EYBL season for eyes, there are a bunch of players like that across football and basketball

Top 30-50 classes are nothing special. Manning had a top-25 and a couple top-40 classes. Need to be Top-20 regularly.

Definitely just you. He’s doing the work necessary to build this program. It’s not like he’s offering guys out of nowhere. He’s offering after doing meetings or doing meetings after offering.

If you want to get pissed about Wake basketball offers, then talk to Danny Manning about offering like 75% of the top-50 without even attempting to recruit most of them.

This is what Forbes should be doing right now, imo.

Maybe he should just offer 2-3 guys and sit around with his thumb up his ass, i’m sure that will work.

Throw a wide net! I’m sure other schools are doing the same. Not every school can pick & chose like the blue bloods.

Coaches have to get around the fact that nobody can scout in person and can't meet guys in person either. They have to cast a wide net now, build relationships over Zoom, and then trim the lists once they can scout and meet players. Seems like players are casting a wide net now as well for the same reasons.

When is the last time we had a 6'10, 240 pound guy who could play?

Chris Ellis?

This dude is what we need, just because I am sick and tired of getting pushed around. He, at least in that tweet, looks the part of bad ass enforcer.

John Collins?

What constitutes low post enforcer? If it's offense then Devin Thomas worked Jahlil Okafor and a lot of other bigs in the post, and if it's defense Doral Moore was a legit shot blocker.

But anyway, back to recruiting, I definitely hope Boakye can play if we get him, and if he is an enforcer, cool, I'm not sure how you tell that just by looking at someone, but sounds like I am off base. Maybe this guy's game is closer to Collins, which would be pretty sweet. Can't wait for the Jamie Shaw breakdown.
