Hmm. Just yesterday GOP Rep. Ted Yoho of Florida confronted Dem Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the steps of the Capitol. He was coming down the steps of the Capitol, saw AOC coming up the steps some distance away, and decided to challenge her "on issues of crime and policing in an unusual — and decidedly personal — confrontation." According to an article on The Hill website "In a brief but heated exchange, which was overheard by a reporter, Yoho told Ocasio-Cortez she was "disgusting" for recently suggesting that poverty and unemployment are driving a spike in crime in New York City during the coronavirus pandemic."
"You are out of your freaking mind," Yoho told her.
Ocasio-Cortez shot back, telling Yoho he was being "rude."
After the exchange they parted ways, but Yoho was overheard offering "a parting thought to no one in particular...Fucking bitch, he said." AOC later said "That kind of confrontation hasn't ever happened to me — ever," she said. "I've never had that kind of abrupt, disgusting kind of disrespect levied at me." Yoho refused to discuss the exchange, only saying "No comment."
If nothing else, it's clear that many male GOP members of Congress have real issues with feminists, and strong women in general.
