went back to Winston and hit up Putters and Burke St. We tailgated and traveled in that AM but I'd like to think I would have stopped by Finnegan's and Single Bros.

Bummer about Breakfast of Course

if i'm making a WINSTON SALEM BEER RANKING, body electric is #1 and chosen vehicle citra is probs #2

i'm a sucker for a good citra ipa though

the only cigarette ads (billboards / magazine ads) i really remember as a kid were for newports. i'm p sure my parents had some sorta merch that i used as a kid (a baseball cap maybe? coulda been a beach towel)

my dad always smoked marlboro reds so he would get a lot of merch from their loyalty program too

No way, cool. I have two younger sisters who went there too.

I went to Brunson as well - through 4th grade, when we moved from W-S. Though that was a looooong time before you guys. Would get out of school and walk up to the Y and dominate on the foosball table and b-ball court. Good times.

I also went to kindergarten at Wake Forest. Two years of it in Wingate. It was weird to be back there 13-14 years later talking college classes in the same building.

i've had bad beers from incendiary, fiddling fish, and wiseman.. you just gotta know how to pick out the winners, very few breweries bat 100%, and i live in BEER CITY USA

First World - 21st Century problems. At the risk of sounding too Boomerish, I recall the days when a draft Stroh's at The Safari room was fine drinking. At least if it was too late in the day to go to Simo's for a frosty mug.

our son is currently not circumcised because he's on Medicaid and they don't pay for it. can't put him on our insurance until the adoption finalizes (hopefully soon if they can get a court date), but I think we still want to go through with it.

less than two months to go for me now

fortunately my son will never cry

Damn townie. I bet circumcision late in life sucks. Also, congrats on the TUFF kid.

re-watching 24. Just discovered how to change my ringtone. I submit that the $1.29 I spent to download the 24 ringtone to my phone will be the most valuable purchase of my life.

Going to have to start answering my phone with just my last name though

It’s never too late to join 2002.

Been on campus some this week. It sounds like a few of the food vendors are opting out of returning fully staffed kitchens, so maybe not all will be open. However, a few local owners have inquired about setting up shop for the semester/year.

It's funny, it almost looks like a Zombie apocalypse happened (which I guess kind of did). Just so many bicycles with flat tires all around campus that were obviously left behind to be retrieved this year. Some cars as well.

I have been a lurker for close to two decades on these boards and never realized, until reading these last few pages, how many people I have probably seen in real life that post here. I always assumed Catamount and some of these other guys were way older.

The only two I know for sure are Brasky (I am friends with his little bro) and Townie because we played soccer growing up (Townie has no idea who I am).

One of my favorite memories from Rec downstairs was a buddy of mine telling us he was he was going to go to the bathroom and a certain gay bartender at another establishment overheard him say that and responded "ooooh making room for me I see." Still makes me laugh to this day.

Edited to say those early 2010 nights at Finnegans, Single Bros, Rec, WEOH and Social Club were a lot of fun. Tates was the spot to try to get laid imo. I guess Finnegans filled that role too.

And my two cents on breweries:

Wise man has the best beer.
Fiddling Fish I frequent just because I am friends with the owners... they are really good people.
Incendiary has decent beer. Cool outdoor area though. Pizza is always nice.
Radar has a citrus IPA that is really good. Otherwise a meh spot.

The current go to spots for drinks (pre COVID):
Vintage Sofa just because Chase pours a mean drink.
Bar Pina has some awesome island drinks.
Fair Witness... Tim is a mad scientist and creates some awesome stuff. If it had a larger seating area we would be there all the time.

Ahh yeah, fair witness is the one I was trying to think of the name of, friend took me there last time I was in town staying with him, had some awesome cocktails.

I hung out with Brasky's lil bro one time watching a worlc cup game/day drinking all day, he was an absolute mad man (in a good way).
